Worked here for a year. Part time working 40-55 hours a week. They'll work you 10-12 hours a day if you let them, otherwise you'll be put to the side as a part timer unless you're willing to work a ridiculous amount of hours on low pay and good luck getting any sort of break. Its too bad, the people that work here are really decent people. aside from a few people who like be incredibly unprofessional and will make inappropriate jokes and straight up offensive comments. Once my supervisor showed me pornographic content on his phone with someone he as cheating on. so that was super uncomfortable. That's my experience anyways, if you're okay working long hours alone for 18 bucks or on and off stressful work. Then maybe you'll get more out of it then I did.

Some very nice and genuine people in the bus shop, and they'll take the time to help you out if you put the work in. Some drama here and there, but that's what you'll find in most places. If you can overlook it and you're just there to work, it's not too distracting.

As an apprentice you'll be familiarizing yourself with Mostly MCI J4500 buses through services, as well as some D4500 and transit buses. There's some work coming from Metrolinx that you might help a licensed tech with. In the bus shop, there's no crazy pressure from deadlines, so as long as you're working at a consistent pace and doing good work, you'll be fine. It definitely helps with learning, but at times things can get a little repetitive, and work gets slower in the winter.

Overall a good place to learn.

Very busy every day.
Learned a lot on adult learning principles and how to incorporate in each lesson plan.  Was able to get certifications in required subjects.
Management was supportive, and co-workers were amazing.  Most enjoyable part of the job was being a part of a team that wanted everyone to succeed.  Watch someone master the art of operating a transit bus or learning WHMIS made my day.

Psychotic, manipulative, abusive management, HR, and administrative team who has no regard or empathy for human emotion

Toxic and not fun due to management. Other techs made it fun but we all know it’s a garbage place to work

Come to work angry and go home angry due to toxic management

I worked for this company for approximately 7 months, as the part-time wages is way too low for way too long of a probationary period. As a part-time employee, i was working 50+ hours a week travelling 85km distance from home.  I felt I love at work.  Most of the management is decent but everything is in the benefit for the company, not the employees.

It was good place to work. Enjoyable interaction with passengers. 
Driving was rewarding. The busses were in great condition and easy to operate. 
The hours are long but manageable.
I would recommend this company as a good place to work at.
 I left to pursue a different career that became available, otherwise I would still have been there.

I still currently work at TOK transit but the interview process and the hiring process and everything that went along with it was super easy very friendly staff very easy going and once you start driving you get to know the routes and the customers and honestly it's a job I plan to stay with for a long time 

The work culture was not very supportive, management chose to believe lies rather than truth (they are unconcerned about how drivers are untreated by the general public/passengers). High turnover rate because its not a good place to work. Theres a Union for drivers but didn't seem to be a strong one. Tok transit don't appreciate good drivers, they're only concerned about the almighty dollar.

Run by a great team of competent people who understand and recognize employees as more than a number on a cheque.  Willingness to assist with employees and their concerns regarding their employment,  competitive wages and above average benefits. I have worked with them for years and I strongly believe that you are doing well if you work for them in all levels of employment.
