I worked in the large format printing department so on a typical day I would read job orders, speak with customers to clarify instructions, code jobs, print jobs, and bring them to the dispatcher. I also did a lot of designing and worked on a variety of different customer projects from construction to interior design. I learned how to use a variety of different printers, cutters, finishers, laminators, and software used for setting up and printing files. My manager was awesome and very helpful when I had questions. The staff were amazing and we all worked as a team. Hardest part of the job is sometimes the workload is a lot, there is a lot to know in a bunch of different areas, lots of equipment, and dealing with clients that need jobs done very quickly. 
They have annual parties and outings. Often clients bring us treats and the management was always bringing in something to snack on throughout the day.
Benefits were great, the boss was very flexible when I could not come in for personal reasons. I was happy with my wage. And I got a gift for Christmas which I appreciated. Overall, it is a great place to work. 

I don't know where the poor reviews come of this place, working at TR Trades was a great experience 10/10. The work environment is made for those who are independent, so there was a lot of turn over from new staff that were not independent workers. I had no experience when I joined, but everyone there was so helpful (especially the graphics department and a few of the sales guys) and they had a great group of people that had been there a long time. Everyone seemed very happy, and compared to my previous jobs working there was fun and enjoyable. After a few weeks of training and shadowing other staff, I was really on my own almost as an independent employee. There was no management crawling down my back watching me and telling me what to do all day. I attribute the poor review to those that could not make it in this environment. In this company every job is different, I had to be creative and work in a team to figure things out.  I ended up moving back to my home country, and would work back here if I come back to BC. The customers at this place are also great. If you are in customer service, you will enjoy the repeat customer base.

There are worse places to work, but there are also better work places to be an employee. Owners rarely at work. When they are there it is a weird micro-management style and information is very unclear. Many of the staff are unskilled and/or under trained and seem to not care. Staff turnover was above average when I was employed there and there was not much loyalty on either side.  The work environment is dirty and old. Cold in winter and hot in summer. Benefits(dental) are ok and there is a monthly lunch. Equipment is so-so. Wage is standard depending on your job. Vaca is also standard. 

Okay job for short term

The owner is only there half of the time and when they say they are working at home, they can never be reached.  The time that they are there, tries to find fault in every little thing and then will blow up on everyone for not doing their job and everything is everyone else's fault.  They never accept blame for any of the mistakes they do (which is often).  They are very disrespectful.  Do not expect regular salary/employee reviews.  You have to beg to get more money.

Not a fun place to work except for the other employees.  The group of people there are very welcoming and do seem to have fun together.  

Worked for very short time,  less than three months, very challenging place to work, they basically through you into the fire without any training. There is no manager only owner and the senior sales to ask questions. The owner is not in  most of the time. There is one experienced salesperson who was very experienced and knowledgeable. Some of the operators don’t help you out. I don’t recommend working here.

I soon discovered that this job was not for me even though most of the staff outside of the office are ok. The internal computer management system is an antiquated DOS based program that I discovered has no relevance for any other employment. The company controller has a Jekyll & Hyde personality and I was always walking on eggshells around him and the owners. Not everything was bad, I lasted almost a year. I wish I had that time back.

The company has good ethics and stands behind their motto of good customer service. Their management has changed over the years for the better. The Controller is amazing and the current production manager is very attentive and easy going. It's a very collaborative environment.

Worked with TR Trades for a couple years, doing administration work.  I really enjoyed the work environment, very family orientated, team mentality, management was very inclusive and approachable.  Lots of long term employees. 

lots of local deliveries in the city, nice customers, vehicles were always maintained, good work environment, great benefits and work life balance.. management was approachable and flexible time off
