TRIMEN ELECTRIC

A day at Trimen Electric included hands on physical labour working in a team environment. I learned about electric circuits, new building construction and how the other tradesmen work coordinated with my own.  The management team along with my co-workers were a fantastic group of people to work with .  A challenging part of the work was the interpretation of blue prints to the physical job.  The most enjoyable part was the clear communication with co-workers and management.

If you're a first or second year, its a good place to start your electrical career. You'll learn alot on the job. Pay and benefits are competitive.

However, the foremen and lead hands consist of a core group and you won't get advancement if you're an outsider. 

They hire lots of people for projects, and then lay everyone off when its all done. boom and bust. 

Hours were long at the busiest of times, no incentive to work them. Absolutely no appreciation by management but the general atmosphere of the company hinted towards that. Little room to advance unless you know someone. Had higher hopes for the company but was let down time and time again.

long hours without any overtime pay, make u feel like u have to work crazy long hours or you won't have a job tomorrow, and after working all those hours they still lay you off as soon as the project is complete no appreciation at all, the pm just comes by and all he says is we gotta work more, put in more hours, work weekends that it never a thank you or anything!!!!!

The work culture is fantastic. I absolutely loved working there. Trades work is a different environment as a whole but these guys made it worth it. I left for a new career path otherwise I might not have ever left.

They have plenty of work but the pay is average, no OT no matter what, extra hours are expected and paid at straight time banked time, the guys and management are all pretty agreeable, it is an electrical construction job and not much else, which is fine.

Very friendly and welcoming environment. I don't have a single thing negative to say about Trimen. The work was pretty standard. Management was always accommodating with vacation/personal days.

Great company to work for management is nice and 90% of formans are super nice and chill will get you what you need and has a great vibe to it would definitely recommend to apprentices that want to learn different parts of the trade

Good company, I enjoyed my time there.

Company has experienced challenges securing new work in the current economic climate.

Would definitely return given the opportunity.

Management is terrible. The people who work with you are great. Unfortunately you can't avoid management all the time, but you can most of the time. As long as you keep your head down and do a good job, your fine.
