I recently started at TRW now THK in the quality lab department and I feel like my position will ultimately allow me to make a difference. It is nice to have a position where you feel seen, wanted and respected.  We are currently living in different times and we are seeing that companies all over are changing for the better and getting rid of the 1960 to 1990 mentality and treatment. 
There is a range of personalities just like any other job however this department is just finding out that they are thriving after seeing how poorly past managers treated employees. We all learn quickly after making mistakes or seeing others fail.  This company and department I am in allow me to be heard and are training me to be the best me I can be here. It will only grow and get even better over time and I can honestly say that I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the team and very eager to learn as much as possible.  I would highly recommend qualified people to apply here.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The company is ZF now , not TRW, was bought a few years ago by ZF.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of leadership by top management  and flows down through to supervisors.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment  years ago was great ,but under this management  it seems like it is self sabatough of the company,really hard to watch  the destruction of a once great company by inexperienced  upper mgt

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Always chaos,can't  get schedule straight and changeover dies to run parts that dies where already set up for running production.  Short runs cuz scheduler is working from home and has lost touch with the bussiness of stamping

Plating Group Leaders have a very important job. You are responsible for everyone working on the line, as well as the parts coming off the line being completed to specifications and that the machinery is running properly, that the plating chemical tanks have the amount they should have, adding chemicals, etc. This job is Very fitting for myself because you're constantly on the go. There is always something to be done and it keeps you busy. which i very much enjoy in a job. Downfall to this job is that you're working with very dangerous chemicals all day and its a very hot environment.

Worked 18 years at TRW as a supervisor and last few years managed their cost saving program. TRW machines and assembles steering and suspension parts. I left TRW to gain experience with other plants so i joined the Formet team. In 2008 when the industry slows down,out Lean department was closed. I did not take a transfer i took a buy out and started a Home Inspection business. This business isn't profitable enough due to base on home sales so i ready to get back into manufacturing.

A typical day included the assessment available production time vs inventory requirement. It also included an inspection of equipment & personnel work habits.
 My work force was of an older age, so arranging the work assignments was crucial for both production demands & personnel well being & health

How to work fast and get the job done.

management was great 

hardest part of the job was learning how to work fast but with great co-workers helping me, I was able to do the job .

the best part about this job was being able to listen to music. It is a very monotonous kind of work but the company is generous enough to let the employees have one headphone in one ear.

Very relaxed company to work for with a give and take attitude especially in IT where I worked many long hours (and nights sometimes), was on call 24x7 and the company was very understanding if I was in late or had to take time off for any reason. Mostly enjoyed showing new employees the ropes, and assisting users with any IT issues.

Fast paced, little room for error in auto industry. Expectations on performance is extremely high. Being a OEM, the demands from our customers must be met or the penalties are high. This fuels the demands and stress on TRW employees.

very reliable, never have problems here unless its getting hours. im only a tpt but this is bar far the best place ive worked at. give me days off as a tpt when i have school or other activities throughout the summer.

Productive and fun workplace , had many chances to take courses and learn new things . I was the Certified Member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee for several years. I met a lot of great people throughout the years working there.
