This could be a fun job for someone that loves plants.  However, the training is not very good and they continually critisize as they have an actual plan for where things belong.  Unfortunately, nobody told us that plan until half way through the season when they did a walk through and told us we were doing it all wrong.  On top of that we could have had more hours but we didnt know until again they critisized us for not working enough.  I would have worked more had I known I could.  Its not easy work but the real hard work is likely one day a week.   My experience could have been way better if the recruiter (same person who walks through) had done a better job ensuring everyone is trained to their standards.  Its not hard to figure out once they explain themselves.  You basically work in teams of two or three dragging large shelved pallets into the store and unload them so customers can chose plants.  Some days its simply ensure plants look good, answer customer questions, and prune plants.  Must have steel toed boots (no boot allowance), told up front.  However be prepared to also buy pruners, gloves, and a rubber mallet for breaking apart those carts once you are done with them.

Run away. This is one of the worst places to work I've ever seen. The training showed professionalism and care for the health/well-being of employees (HealthSafe BC), but apparently upper mgt. doesn't care or know about that, given the treatment of staff. If you like being run ragged for lousy rates, threatened with being fired on the spot for trying to take care of your body, or getting a water break when working on concrete in 30C heat, look elsewhere. 

No support. Rude upper management. No job security. Shorter season then offered. Worked there 4 seasons setting up all island stores ans supporting staff because upper management wouldnt  Glad to have moved on to a supportive company that offers a future

I worked for TSC out of a garden center this past summer. I worked alongside one person who I was the assistant to. The job can be quite physical and includes some heavy lifting, but it can be chill and relaxing at times too. Overall it was a super fun job and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 
*I highly recommend gardening gloves! 

seasonal work, were you are working as vendor at Home Depot and you merchandise the product as it is delivered.  Clean, safe working conditions.  outdoors for the most part and you get to converse with people buying plants for the summer season.  you will learn a lot about plants from the company and from customers.

April to October, physically demanding but you get used to it quickly. Would definitely work there again if I needed too great hourly pay and you get a great tan!! pretty much make your own hours as long as you get the plants out. Managers are great and help you with everything you need,need to be good communicator because head office is in b.c.

Some of the staff members are not very nice, can become catty and unproductive. Pay is decent, working outdoors is nice if you can handle weather and physical. It would be perfect if I was able to work alone and if TSC members were more respected by Home Depot staff as well.

Thought it would be a great place, started off ok.  But as time went on you were treated poorly by staff, work was hard though I like hard work but the conditions were poor.  You meant nothing to them, If you get hurt they will not hire you back, you are disposable.   

Perfect place to learn about plants and start your career in the horticulture industry. Awesome coworkers and friendly clients. 

Can be physically hard at times but great if you want to stay fit.

Really nice company to work for as a seasonal job April - end of summer

As long as you can handle the weather! 
Hard work until you get used to it
