I’ve worked in the food industry for over a decade, and my time at Taco Bell Hamilton was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. The upper management is completely unprofessional, disorganized, and disrespectful. There is zero support for managers or staff, and they treat employees like they’re disposable.

The district/area leadership doesn’t care about people, only numbers. They constantly interfere without understanding store operations, and when things go wrong, they blame the managers instead of offering real help. You’re expected to work insane hours, often with no proper days off, no backup, and unrealistic demands. If you speak up, you're ignored or punished.

Favoritism is a huge issue—certain people get away with everything while others are micromanaged and treated unfairly. There’s no structure, no training, and no respect. Staff turnover is ridiculous, and honestly, I don’t blame anyone who quits.

Taco Bell Hamilton is a toxic place to work if you’re under current leadership. You will burn out quickly and be made to feel like nothing you do is ever enough. This company talks about “people culture,” but at this location, that’s just a slogan with zero meaning.

Favoritism, manipulation, and a total lack of respect

A typical day at work is either stressful or decent. Customers in fast food can be extremely easy to serve, or extremely hard to please.

I learned to pay attention, restock when necessary and always check my amounts of every item we sold.

Management has never been the strong point of the location I was at, downright childish when it comes right down to it. Rumors and spreading misinformation about the staff is something associated with High school, not a work environment and especially not from someone that is the manager.

Co-workers have always been the best part of the job. I got along with everyone, and only seemed to have issues with people that were getting ready to quit or be let go.

Hardest part of the job, often times was dealing with unruly customers. 

The most enjoyable part, is being able to interact with people, make food you don't normally have the ability to make and also get to know new people through co-workers.

Working and and dealing with customers has it ups and downs. Some are very nice and understanding and others are not so nice. Working a Taco Bell has helped me understand and listen more towards a customers complaints and seeing how i can help fix the situation and help them get better service. The management is great and if very flexible if you need a day or two off and works around a school schedule. The co-workers are nice and friendly I never feel left out in and anything and always include everyone. The hardest part about this job would be working during a 5 hour rush. Everyone is just trying to keep up with everything and the odd time we are short staffed which doesn't help very much. At the end of the day not matter what happens I enjoying working there everyone is just so nice and the conversations you have with customers is always enjoyable.

The Taco Bell that i work for is a part of a union, therefore, I receive health benefits and slight raises every few months. A typical day at this organization for myself was taking and compiling orders, receiving payments, handling complaints, providing on job training for new employees, and any other tasks delegated to me by my supervisors. The hardest part of the job was dealing with complaints as some guests were extremely difficult. My co-workers had their pros and cons as well, some were such a delight to work with, while others were a bit more difficult. Working at Taco Bell has taught me how to be a team player and how to get a long with people that I have differences with, it has also taught me how to handle complaints and upset customers, as well as how to provide customer care. All in all it has been a good learning experience

I come in (usually 30 minutes early) talk to some of the co-workers. manager. 15 min before my shift starts, i change to my work gear. sometimes i clock in early and start working when i see that its busy or my manager ask me too. i learned to communicate with people with different type of attitudes and personality. i usually worked night shifts and was the drive-thru cashier.  the hardest part of the job was working with people who doesn't want to work, especially on night shift. i want to go home early as possible, so whenever they are no orders, i start prep cleaning what i can do and dishes and cleaning the back room. the most enjoyable part of the job was my co-workers.

Getting paid less for the work we put in , getting treated poorly by your manager ( RGM ) 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is stressful , and the culture! Let’s not even talk about that because if your not East Indian don’t bother , you get talked about behind your back or in front of your face , and you don’t even know what they are saying … each location is different , but the location I work for is horrible . RGM is stuck up and as a manager your suppose to be getting 40 hours a week , naw I am getting less then that . 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Tuesdays , we are super busy , as it’s taco Tuesday and we have a limit of 10 tacos for 2 dollars …

The customers are really what made this job fun. My Coworkers back when I worked here were all great too. It was a very tight knit team and they all cared for each other including the team leader and the supervisor. The owner is also quite nice, but the manager is a bit of a pain sometimes. Overall not a bad place to work at all once you get the hang of the job. Get ready to be under PRESSURE though because they are very busy and you would have to work through many customers, which is scary at first but later starts to feel 
 rewarding. You also usually also stick with one thing, so I only did cash all day, which was a plus for me. The hours are not really the greatest unless you work there full time or have been working there for a while. Expect slightly too much of employees for a part time job, but overall a nice environment.

I applied on a whim because I was desperate and that was a huge mistake. I got thrown into a rush hour shift first hand, without any knowledge or training prior. THEY GAVE ME ZERO TRAINING. ZERO!!!! IN A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT THATS FAST PACE!!! ZERO TRAINING!!!! They expected me to know everything instantly and when I said "I was never showed this" or "I was never taught" they just gave me a heavy sigh and did it without explaining. It was such an unwelcoming environment and everyone didn't care for teaching me or showing me around. One shift I had I sat in the lobby for an hour staring into space because the manager told me to study the menu on the screen (which is like 10 things) and then didn't even come back to me. It made me miserable and waking up knowing I had to go to this absolute abomination of a place filled me with sadness and regret of even applying to this place.
