As an employee for Taco Del Mar a typical day would be 4-7 hours in length depending on your availability as most people who worked there were student at a University. I was a closer and had to close the store at night ensuring the safety if closing is met and everything is in order for the next person. I had a great work environment and worked under very understanding and approachable managers. My co-workers were the same as well and motivated and encouraged each other in and out the work place. I really liked the atmosphere of the workplace as it was not laid back too much nor was it stressful. Because the management was so understanding and knew how to monitor in the nicest of ways, everyone worked harder and accomplished tasks.

The job is very easy going with very outgoing co-workers who are always willing to help you out if you get stuck in a situation if help is wanted. I learned how to manage my time at work between serving customers, cleaning and prepping food for the day and the day after or for catering orders.The management is very understanding and flexible with hours between our few employees. The hardest part of the job is not having enough hours to work and not having enough things to stock up on when inventory has run out.The most enjoyable part of this job is enjoying the shift with my co workers and making friends with the customers and making new regular customers.

This is the job for you if you enjoy a complete lack of management. The amazing part is I lasted as long as I did. Unfortunately there isn't much training from management, as this is also the owner, who is seldom around. This leaves you to working pretty much on your own, as coworkers are not much help. There are no breaks, so if you work 7 or 8 hours, prepare to stand the entire time, no regular breaks as there is not enough staff to take them. Customers are great, food is easy to prepare. Being short on staff and the lack of management, no regular breaks, makes for a very long shift. 

The food is delicious, the people who work here are always great, the manager understands that you have a life outside of work and if emergencies come up, is very understanding about personal issues. That said, management is extremely well done. It's hard to manage a business and still have everybody like you enough to go out for drinks together. Props to everybody there. Hopefully other people get to experience a workplace environment like this. Everybody is welcome :)

Usually closing the store can be a pain, there is a lot to do. sometimes the pre-closers dont always do what they have to which means that the closer has to do more to close the store. but overall it is a fun place to work at, the people are great, management is funny and great to communicate with. My most enjoyable part is the evening customers, more then half the time the customers are fun to talk to and are a blast. they always seem make us laugh and we try in return. and then sometimes you get the really awesome ones that give you a little tip. 

I mostly just want to warn people about the manager, he likes to pick favourites and if you aren’t one of his favourites he will make your life a living nightmare. The rules only apply to people that he has decided not to like. He will talk down to you and likes to use a group chat to belittle his employees and publicly embarrass them. He will not let you call in sick while you are throwing up and will make you handle food while sick. He is awful and needs to be fired. Don’t work here!

While working at Taco Del Mar I learned a lot since it was my first job, the work wasn't top hard, the most important was to serve customers with a good attitude and make sure food was always fresh and presentable . Most of the things that was needed to be done when you stared your shift was to do the preparation of food, wash dishes and clean the lobby. I really did enjoy my experience while working at Taco Del Mar.

This place is ok if it's the very first time you're working. The manager is super nice and considerate, but most of the time she isn't there and there might be ridiculous and ununderstandable rules set by the supervisors there. In general, you don't have a specific role in the store, you just do whatever they tell you to do, including prepping and cleaning (be prepared to clean the filthy washrooms from time to time).

Great first job, flexible schedules and understanding management staff.
Great for a while but it has very little space for raises, promotions and advances.
However there is a big chance for learning and getting ready to move forward once you leave.

It doesn't matter how long you worked here, there are no benefits for dental, or any type of benefits. There is only one or two people on a shift. Not worth staying for a long time because there's no raise, no benefits, work alone, boss isn't there. No one to ask for help when working by yourself.
