Initially, I had support from the team and management. Everything was going very well. However, I was told not to come into work if I was sick (something I clarified during orientation). When I called in sick with very obvious symptoms of what I thought could be the same virus my co-worker had, I was fired the same day. My co-worker could work from home - I was not given the same option. Management feared my health overall would not allow me to keep up with the job, though my job performance was not a reason for my firing at all. Moreover, management knew I had certain limitations due to chronic health issues but these still never stopped me from performing well, and management said they could accommodate me anyway. Ultimately, the company could not put their money where their mouth was, and I only ever did what I was told I was allowed to do.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The production/shipping/maintenance staff are great.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The health risks are high on the stress level.   The silica levels are dangerous 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Management is awful, staff are great.   The production guys are great however they are not valued.   Without their hard work there would be no money made for this corporation 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sweating your bag off and being covered head to toe in concrete.

Willing to train on equipment

When the plant went down it was always a rush to get it running again

Good working environment always out side in the sun or rain

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
12 hour days working out side in a massive sand box who wouldn’t want to work there

Everyone is very thoughtful and personable to work with. The boss is just fantastic and the front end staff even better!

It’s not really super stressful

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Morning meeting, then off and running

In a typical day in my last position I fulfilled management tasks of opening and closing the facility, as well as overseeing a staff of seven individuals. Throughout the day I completed various administrative duties as well, including answering phones, drafting documents and emails, filing and greeting customers. I also provided strong customer service and resolved customer issues.

The job is not overly hard. It can be physical at times. It is a fast pace production facility, with safety being the number one priority. They will get you any safety equipment you need and are always looking to improve. Production deadlines can be stressful at times. 

The only reason I left was because a job came up that I couldn't turn down. Most days flew by. Worked with a good crew and learned a lot. Supervisor was fantastic and treated everyone well. Always something to do and if you show up, do your job, are willing to learn and stay busy, you'll do great.  

The business has helped me maintain myself throughout my last semester of university with flexible hours. The job itself can get challenging considering the dusty environment and te constant physical activity, however precautions and tools to avoid risk are provided.

A typical day at work would be to come in and report to the supervisor to see what the task would be for the day. I learned how to use a forklift and the hardest part about the job would of probably been the heat from outside, because the cement plant was already hot enough.

I really enjoyed working for this company, great staff great environment and great knolage and equipment the staff is all personable and eager to teach I learned a lot working there
