You can not fault Teaching Personnel for their support and progression. I started as a trainee with no recruitment experience and am now a Senior Manager and I have had the most supportive, encouraging and inspiring leaders to help me to get here. It's hard work, but you get what you put in and the rewards and incentives are plentiful. Unlike other agencies, you are given extensive training to ensure you are given the best start possible and continuous CPD and promotion opportunities at every level. I would recommend Teaching Personnel to anyone who is seeking a long-lasting and rewarding career. I couldn't imagine doing anything else or working anywhere else now and cannot wait for more exciting years at TP.

The girls in the Cornwall office are wonderful to work with! I have a random schedule due to children but the online Diary is easy to update and I am booked every day I put in for! The booking system is easy and they text when there's work means I am not waiting by the phone when I'm not avalible. I have had no problems getting a lot of work through this agency and I could pretty much work full time, if I wanted to. I receive a lot of prebookings which makes life so much easier and can sync my work diary to my iPhone. This then gives my the postcode, directions and all the information I need which is really useful. I have enjoyed working for this company and have not encountered any problems. There is also a feedback system which I personally find useful as it is always nice to hear what you are doing well! Overall I have no issues and would fully recommend the Cornwall office! Well done to all involved and a huge thank you!

I have worked for Teaching Personnel for two years. My local branch were very friendly and excellent at finding me work. However, I have recently secured a permanent position and am finding it really difficult to get a reference. The references need to be completed by head office staff in London and I cannot get hold of them. I've left three voicemails and my branch manager has sent the reference request through twice and asked it to be completed asap. I was due to start my new job but I couldn't because they hadn't received the reference from head office. I have heard that others have also experienced difficulty in getting a reference so I would advise not putting them down as a referee when you fill out a job application form.

Most of the work I have done through TP has been single days, or a couple of days, meaning that the environment is always different. For the past few weeks however I have had a permanent placement at an AP academy which has been challenging but very rewarding. Through this job I have learnt how to deal with difficult behaviour but also how to work with children to achieve the results we both desire. Management has been great and there is frequent contact. The hardest part of the job is not having a permanent placement but it is interesting to work in different places. I have enjoyed working with difficult children and learning how to achieve desirable outcomes.

An online booking diary is used for placements. Contact is made via phone or email, before or on the day of the school location and year group . I am always asked if I am available before accepting a role. I am kept informed of other longer term roles available. Schools give feedback via teaching personnel, which leads to repeat bookings. Working with teaching Personnel has given me a great opportunity to work in different schools with a variety of staff and colleagues.

I thought when I first started this job would be amazing. Oh I was wrong. Once I got a position I was never contacted for a catch up, until they said they didn’t have a position for me anymore. 
I was paying emergency tax the whole time I was working here, I also missed a few payments due to lack of communication. 
I do not recommend working here. AWFUL
They also have just terminated my employment because they new I was looking else where for work whilst with them.  ( which most people do) 

Typical day at work would be getting a call either evening before or on the day to attend school. You then need to travel, no expenses paid and fuel is expensive at the moment. Cover teacher rates at £90 per day. Experience depends on school you attend. You can be treated with respect by students and staff or not. That is probably the hardest part of the job. The best is that you finish and go home at the end of the school day with no work to take home with you.

Schools pay the company upward of 180pound daily for my service as a teacher. They pay me a 100 pound. When I queried this issue they were quite short with me. Use another company is my advice.
Go with other recruitment agencies as i have. The service is better as is the daily rate.

This company is very exploitative, they promise long terms of employment but rarely deliver. Con teachers into unpaid trial days and basically out and out lie. My experience was with the rude manager from the Truro office in Cornwall.

My advice is to avoid at all costs!!! There are much better agencies out there.
