Love that we are now Terrapure and we are growing. Yes it is so we can be sold. But that is the name of the game. A lot of the day to day is what you make it. You can enjoy where you work or hate it. I love it. Salaries are always in need of inprovements. But we are paid well and have an amazing benifit package and match our RRSP. 
 We could always get better equipment to use but most is in is in good working order. 
Sometimes as we grow it is hard to really know what is happening and does the left hand know where the right hand is and what it is doing? 
 In saying that I am sure you will always find that in any big company. 
 Would I recommend Terrapure to a friend? For sure. I have said it already that I love working here and want us to continue to grow.

I worked as an operator at the Bedford branch. Horrible operation there. Management was the major problem. Coupled with no communication and the place was full of back stabbing employees who were afraid that someone would make  them look bad. The lead operators were unprofessional and only cared about making more money.  They preach safety is #1. Yeah. Only on paper. They only do the “right” thing when someone else is watching. Shady business practices that repeatedly cost our customers more money. This place was a joke. I would never have them on my job site.

Worked here for 5 years. Mass resignations when a driver was promoted to supervisor on the transport side. I found out why after I was fired for no reason. The supervisor would constantly tell inappropriate stories as well as stories of violence about when he was a “hells angel”. He would also constantly push his religion on people. Very unprofessional. When I started we worked 8 on and 6 off. It was great. Then an employee that was trying to make a name for himself ratted us out to management for no reason and recommended that we go Monday to Friday, which we did. A great work environment then turned sour. Zero room for advancement.

the worst place i worked at in the 50yrs in the work force.could run a drunk day in a beer bar . management  treated there worker like dirt . they may have 2000 worker over the country  but the same feeling is the same very toxic work place at every place i know this from working in many of them magement eather don,t know or don.t care about the workers that make the suit and tiers look good .they talk about saftey but dont,t folow throught in the work place  run with old and woren out eque. .it,s not a good place to work at .under payed over worked .that is the reason the turn over at the Debert is so high

Co-workers were overall good to work with, upper management does not care about on ground employees, branch manager was not given leeway to do his job as they were always micro managed by regional manager. Why even have a branch manager if they are not allowed to manage. Good variety of work. Old equipment that needs to be updated(most vehicles 10+ years old and worn out)

I loved dispatching at Terrapure.  Management were always there to guide me through difficult and unprecedented situations.  We worked in a diverse team environment.  I enjoyed working with everyone on my team.  The hardest part of my job was being On Call.  I found it sometimes difficult to be woken several times a night and still be fully alert at work.  The most enjoyable part of my job was problem solving with drivers and customers.  I would recommend anyone to work at Terrapure.

The most miserable work environment I have been in. Populated by the indentured elite and managers from when Terrapure purchased NewAlta’s inept industrial division, this place functions on a disfunctional culture of group think and yes people. Top down, excrement runs down hill is how the management survives around here. Make no mistake, Terrapure management hates their workers. Unless you’re location is a union shop, be prepared for a life of blame, over burdening and gaslighting.

I liked my job at Terrapure. It was challenging but I always felt local management was behind me and we could get things done.

Unfortunately their cowardly investors sold us off the GFL for a pitance instead of taking the next step. Now we're stuck working at a gong show run by a third string, washed up hockey player. 

So thanks for the good job. However, I hope the automotive industry turns to hydrogen and your battery recycling business sinks like a cinder block in a two foot creek.

During the hiring interview I told them (months in advance) that a specific day I wouldn't be able to work. Once hired, I put it in the system they use. I reminded my boss weeks in advance. Was still scheduled, and denied leave.

Will likely judge you more on "do I like you" rather than work speed/safety/ethics.

The only good thing is the salary, but that's really the minimum considering the wonky schedules available and the respiratory full face mask you have to wear at all times on the site.

I am the lead hand of Waste Water Operations,at Terra Pure Environmental,based in Surrey BC.

A typical day at work includes treatment of water through an Electro-Coagulation Waste Water treatment unit, loading and offloading of TDG and non TDG regulated materials,decanting and stabilization of back waste, tank farm management, routine maintenance,and operation of forklifts, skid steer, excavator, as well as effective communication between shifts.
