What is the best part of working at the company?
The salary package was competitive and aligned with market standards.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part was when I first joined the company. Employee only had onboarding training in the morning and was expected to start working in the afternoon, so this company required employee to adapt and learn everything very quickly. The workload was also very heavy, and employee often had to work overtime, including weekends at times.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment felt somewhat toxic and lacked strong communication among co-workers, as there was very little interaction or casual conversation within the team. At the same time, employees were required to attend after-work team-building events, which often felt exhausting and unproductive. During the one year, my department changed managers three times, and nearly one-third of the team members were replaced, creating a very unstable and high-turnover environment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at the company was usually fast-paced and demanding. Most of my time was spent managing a heavy workload and meeting tight deadlines.

Waking up everyday and going to work was something I looked forward to everyday. Being in the heart of Downtown Vancouver with a million dollar view was a positive environment to go to and made me enjoy my job even more. I had the convinces of running on the sea wall everyday on my lunch break coming back to the office refreshed. 

What I learned from Tetra Tech was an ongoing learning curve for me. I
started out as the receptionist and moved around in different departments such as Admin, IT coordinator, HR coordinator and document management. I enjoyed learning and using my skills that I mastered in each department and expanding my knowledge with others in the organization. With guidance and support from my manager and the team I was able to grow. My co-works were family to me. There is no “I” in team. 
The hardest part of the job was getting laid off. During my time at Tetra Tech I felt my job was my career job. I did not want to leave. I felt secure enjoyed my place of work and my wage. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was how everyone was a family.

When I started working for this Canadian company I was employee No. 7 in the Vancouver office, they were an Engineering company out of Winnipeg expanding operations on the West Coast. We were a small office led by a dynamic Engineer, our purpose was to grow this office and win large mining projects.  We were so successful we expanded space several times and finally moved into larger premises with two floors then out grew that space and had to rent another floor. At peak we were 300+ employees, these were very exciting years! 4 years ago we were bought by an US company and started transitioning all company standards to their policies, very challenging but on-going. I had the best team, no assignment was impossible, whatever was asked of them "got done"! Without the teams dedication all the changes and policy changes would not have transitioned so smoothly. Challenging part of the job is always introducing the right employee to the right team, placing one with people who will help you excel at what one does and seeing them succeed.
I am now retired and miss my job a lot!

I was an Accounting Analyst for the Canadian Consulting Division. 
I dealt with over 25 Engineers and did the accoutning for over 150 ongoing projects. 
The day involved a number of different tasks from entering accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciling hours for all consulting staff for billing purposes, reconciling accounts receivable and payable, opening new acounts, closing completed projects as well photocopying, organizing and filing all documentation. 
The hardest part of the job was learning all of the aspects of the job with a minimum of support and training. The most enjoyable part of the job was that each day was a new challenge and opportunity to learn new tasks and be a meaningful part of the accounting team. 
During my time with RPS I fell I truly added value to the position and made a major contribution to improving the documentation provided by the position. 

Working in the oil patch involves driving to location, setting up for the job (tools, devices and computer) and coordinate with the team of specialists involved in the drilling process. 
There are 12hrs shifts for a variable number of days (anywhere from 3 days to 10 days of being in remote location) and every day brings something new to the table. 
I've learned to perform well under pressure, to communicate with supervisors/clients from town and other team members on location, to keep track of every single aspect of the drilling operation that is involved or can influence my job. 
Hardest part of the job is the amount of responsibility the key moments during the drilling when the million dollar decision has to be made. But that same challenge is the main reason i love the job.

A typical day would be

• Receiving and distribute incoming, and outgoing correspondence (e-mail, courier & person)
• Scanning documents (RFI’s, RFP, Change Order, Change Management, Letters, Meeting Minutes, Daily Report, Manuals, etc.) with Ascent Capture/Batch Manager
• Scheduling appointments in Microsoft Outlook
• Special requests for burning of CD’s and DVD’s, printing and plotting jobs
• Providing administrative support such as typing and formatting of letters
• Editing and printing Board and Airplan Reports
• Maintenance of office equipment and supplies
• Performing data entry and researching archives using Expedition and HummingBird
• Ordering supplies & inventory
• Mail Distribution, sending faxes

I love the actual work and most of the time I like my coworkers, but turnover is high. Management ranges from adequate to abysmal, depending on  the project. As a contract worker, expect to have an erratic unpredictable schedule with little to no advanced notice of changes. If you have the stomach for it, doing waste composition studies is fascinating, disgusting, entertaining, physically demanding, and eye-opening. The work is fun and fulfilling but ultimately unreliable. Ultimately, despite enjoying the work, I feel disposable here. If you're looking for a stepping stone job, it's worth a shot. If you want something permanent, I suggest applying somewhere where you'll actually be appreciated and it's not here.

Very high turn over. Low salary. Less and limited opportunities for growth.
Too corporate. Too much bureaucracy. Too much red tape.
Department manager and department leads will suppress you.  They always double talk. They have double standards.
They always stated there was work coming in, but the reality was Tetra loses more bids than actually get those projects.
They treat contractors differently from "staffs".  They jerk contractors around.
Management and leads will try not to allow you get a full day or full week work.
JUST AVOID TETRA TECH.  Not an EPC, it's CORPORATION with bad reputation.


I really enjoyed working with Tetra Tech having lot of cooperation from my co-workers and mangers. Project tasks were very specific and the time as allocated for completion was always been reasonable. I was free to interacted with my managers any time for guidance and advise. The feed back which I used to receive was prompt and substantive. The weekly team meetings, management routing address for the employees sharing information of  upcoming projects, company's financial status, administrative issues, programs hosted gave me a feeling that I am a part of the company.

Tetra Tech Canada has been an incredible workplace, not only for the culture and the office environment, but for the level of professionalism and learning curves along my career development,
They take into consideration the balance of work-personal life for everything, and your mental well-being is always being looked out for.
Approachable management is one of their standards, and the amount of help you get as you grow within the company is something I have never experienced before.
