I recently had the pleasure of dining at Thai Express, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality that set the tone for the rest of the visit.

The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, with its charming Thai-inspired decor and cozy seating arrangements. I appreciated the attention to detail in creating an authentic Thai atmosphere.

Now, let's talk about the food! The menu offered an impressive selection of Thai dishes, and the variety allowed me to explore a range of flavors. I opted for the Pad Thai and Green Curry, and both dishes surpassed my expectations. The Pad Thai had the perfect balance of tangy and savory flavors, and the Green Curry had just the right amount of spice, adding an exciting kick to every bite.

The portions were generous, and the presentation of each dish was immaculate. It was evident that the chefs put a lot of effort into not only the taste but also the aesthetics of the food.

The service was impeccable throughout the meal. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, gladly answering any questions I had and making great recommendations. I also appreciated the quick service, ensuring I didn't have to wait long for my order.

Overall, my experience at Thai Express was outstanding, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Thai dining experience. The combination of delicious food, welcoming ambiance, and top-notch service made it a memorable evening for me. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Thai Express!

-At the beginning of the work day, I would set up the Thai Express counter at the food court, make sure that all the condiments, utensils and trays are ready to be used. I take orders, explain the menu items, and relay any customer concerns and modifications to my co-workers who are cooking. Customers are usually friendly, my co-workers are very accommodating and the work pace fluctuates depending on the time of the day.
-Through my experience at Thai Express, I improved my Cantonese and Mandarin while conversing with my co-workers, developed my patience with other customers and learned to adapt to the demands of the customer industry.
-The business was small therefore little management was needed. The cooks at Thai Express have worked there for a long time and efficiently take care of inventory and customers on their own with little supervision.
-My co-workers were friendly, patient and accommodating.
-The hardest part of the job is when there is a rush during holidays and people become very impatient and easily aggravated
-The most enjoyable part of the job was any part of the day because I  loved the co-workers that I worked with and the customers were very friendly when its not busy and occasionally would start conversations.

This job is very fast paced during rush hour and there are many things you must do as a cashier so it can get stressful at times. The pay is nice for a part time job and the hours are for the most part customizable and manageable for a student. You are also able to get free meals with every shift and you receive tips. Additionally the interview process for me was really simple and straight forward. However, the issue I have is with the lack of management and the job culture. The main problem is favouritism by the supervisor and boss and a very toxic work environment. This is most likely just an issue with this location though as I have seen another review with a similar experience likely at this same location. The supervisor is not great at their job and constructive criticism doesn’t exist for them, only criticism plus complaining. It’s a shame because some of the employees are nice but likely talk behind your back. I am probably going to quit soon because of all these problems, a part time job shouldn’t be so toxic and leave you upset/frustrated after each shift. Otherwise it’s an okay job don’t expect too much.

Don't get me wrong, Thai express is a very good business that does very well in terms of sales but the one I worked at was severely understaffed and the working conditions weren't all that great. there were two chefs and three cashiers that worked there. there were only three people working during lunch rush but after that, one leaves and there are two left for the rest of the day. the pros of the job were the free food, and perhaps the occasional times when there are little to no customers and (for my case) long hours as I had to work the whole day (10 hour shift). in the course of my time as a cashier at this establishment, I learnt how to clean, manage transactions, purchase ingredients for the menu, and even cook! the cons are that the boss didn't hire people to clean the fans and sanitize the kitchens filled with hardened grease and oil every month or so and so the cashiers and line cooks do it.  another thing to keep in mind is that the particular establishment was poorly managed and the boss was hardly around, the equipment was all second hand and most didn't even work. No cap, it was really low budget>

To be honest i hated it. It was in the food court there were alot of people, alot of pressure. Everyday i'd come and barely talk to anyone and just stand as a line cook and repeat the same process over and over again and standing there with the intense heat made it hard. I learnt the value of time, and that i have to fast. the manager wasn't really good. In fact no one liked her. She was described as the mean stingy one who would always find something to pick on, and most of the staff didn't speak proper English so it was hard to communicate or even talk as friends without it being awkward. Hardest part is handling the cash register sometimes when a needy customer comes and tells me he needs this but not that but this etc...
Most enjoyable part was probably cooking when there aren't alot of customers/pressure.

Working at Thai Express was an enriching and delightful experience. From the aromatic spices to the vibrant atmosphere, every day felt like a culinary adventure. The camaraderie among colleagues was exceptional, creating a supportive and motivating work environment.

One of the most rewarding aspects was learning about Thai cuisine's intricacies and mastering the art of crafting authentic dishes. The training provided valuable insights into traditional cooking techniques and ingredient combinations, honing my culinary skills significantly.

Moreover, interacting with customers and witnessing their joy as they savored our flavorful creations was immensely fulfilling. The fast-paced nature of the restaurant kept me on my toes, fostering a sense of responsibility and efficiency.

A typical day is responding to customer's feedback, franchisee's messages and supervisor's requests, Assisting project coordinator in construction and paperwork in preparation for store openings and Assisting marketing creative with marketing tools for store openings, Coordinate and finalize scheduled installations, and finalize  expenses.

I learnt to prioritize a list-to-do everyday and to utilize my time in the most sufficient way. I believe follow-ups are very important to all customer, franchisee, and management as it unifies us as team and as a franchise. A task/job is not complete is there is no follow-up. 

I enjoy working with a dedicated team with the same goal to be a success.

It's not an easy job. It can be quite stressful during meal times. It also depends on the people that work there.

I was lucky enough that the establishment was owned by the mother of a large family. Everybody was nice, I worked with the mother's children, and it was a good social environment. I really made connections working here and even saw some friends during my shifts.

This gig walks a fine line between chill vibes and a paycheck that leaves you wanting more. On the bright side, you won't drown in a sea of tasks day in and day out. It's like a breath of fresh air compared to the usual work frenzy. You might even find time to pursue hobbies or just kick back and relax. But here's the kicker: the pay doesn't quite match up to the effort you're putting in. It's like getting a high-five when you were expecting a fist bump. Sure, it's nice, but you can't help feeling a bit let down. Plus, it's hard to shake that nagging feeling of being undervalued. So, while it's nice to have some downtime, the financial aspect leaves a lot to be desired. Overall, it's a mixed bag of chill and meh.

My typical day at work is to collected financial payments for food orders. I had to amassed clients’ orders and special requests regarding meals. Also, I had to cleaned the facility according to the restaurant health standards of Quebec. 
I learned that communication and teamwork was the key of my work which was also the hardest part of the job. I had to make sure that my client understand the menu and know what they will want to order. Also, I had to make sure that each person of my team is doing their task. 
The most enjoyable part of the job is to meet and talk to new people. It made my connection grew bigger.
