Typical day of work varies depending on where you work in the store regardless of position. For me, I unloaded the trucks, unboxed merchandise and got the merchandise ready to be taken to the main floor.
Managers are supportive to only a few people. I know a lot of good workers who never got the positions they deserve and external people get the job. They claim to prefer hiring internally but they RARELY do. You will have to apply to other Bays for a better chance.
The hardest part of the job is working hard and not being appreciated as you should for your work. There are people carrying departments and receive little appreciation or recognition. 
There arent any enjoyable parts of the job aside from talking to the other employees. The store is extremely unorganized and understaffed.

Hired to do one job, shifted around to do three at the whim of any manager without so much as letting you know, so don’t think they’ll bother telling you why. Not allowed to slightly lean on cabinets even when there are no customers in sight because god forbid the employees look comfortable. Being expected to know things no one ever bothered to teach you, and being asked to do online job training modules on your own time, so they don’t have to pay you. The fact that you have to sign up for a credit card to be able to use the employee discount. The fact that they put out completed schedules, then make changes to them, without your consent or knowledge.

Despite fulfilling beyond the minimum requirements (3 days including a weekend and evenings), part-time positions actually require you to have open availability. Had I known of this untold requirement, I would have not accepted this job. 

There is a lot of expectation with accepting the poorly communicated last minute shifts, often given with less than a 1 hour notice. 

Managers only cared about emphasizing the importance of pushing customers to buy their credit card. 

The job itself was either busy or relaxed, no in between Co-workers, namely the older sales associates, were amazing to work with and genuinely appreciate your work and are willing to help you.

Depending on manager there's good work-life balance and flexible hybrid work. Recent company reorgs have made employees a bit anxious but seems that dust has settled now. There's rumours of a potential 3 day back to the office mandate which made people disappointed, especially to those who joined the company remotely and live far from the downtown core, hopefully there's still some flexibility, fingers crossed!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Have to wait for breaks you go out of your way to satisfy a customer management does not reward. You get one upset customer and they are on your case

You work alone and do for yourself they hire young management who do not want experienced associates to know more than them

I used to work there for about 3 years was paid 13.50$/h and was doing technically everything, as host cashier in the shoes department women’s department men’s and even kid’s department also was sometimes on the accessories and that’s in one day… plus they used to sometimes put random schedules even tho it wasn’t in my availabilities talk to management multiple times but always did the same problem had to leave it was fun with the coworkers and even it was a fun experience but not with the managers

Manager needs to understand to be more clear and when hiring someone new, don’t just expect them to know how the company works and what entrances are open when asked to arrive earlier fir a shift. Not all entrances are open especially when the Bay is in a shopping mall. Like most are. Other then that the staff and ladies I worked with were and are phenomenal. GREAT COMOANY!

over all The Bay was a nice place to work and most management (in my area) is friendly... but they have quotas for you to meet. 
You are expected to get every shopper to use/ sign up for a rewards card (free) and sign up 1 person every 5+ hour shift for a company credit card. 
The only way to receive the employee discount is to sign up for a credit card. Which until 2016 was only 10% (now 10-20% depending on product) 

I feel this company is in it for the money.
but not the worst job I've had

Loved the staff. Most management were great. It was a lovely retail working experience.

Some of the customers. People can be dumb and entitled

I liked it. May not be for everyone. but I really enjoyed it

Depends on the day. Customer service was paramount.

I like to work in the Bay because its long history than the Canada country 
I love my friendly management team at the Bay Oakridge especially Ms Maria Elsa Kimura
I appreciated the full time benefits of Associate Discount program that I can buy whats I like within my pocket
I have very good clients from my work became my great friends and networking
