Management looks at ways to reduce commissions and many employees are working without being paid at least minimum wage for time on floor. They do not follow gov of canada rules as it relates to commission standards. Sick days reduced from 7 to 3 days and commissions reduced from 3.75% to 2 percent on overall volume due to new reduced commission standards. Claw backs on commissions  occur routinely due to company finding new and specials ways to reduce compensation. This can add up to dramatic amounts in the thousands of which is cumulative every year. You are penalized and loose extra commissions for items exchanged or refunded. Their policy for laid off or fired is to never pay severance. 

Inventory does not come on time, lack of proper training from Management who do not have the skills themselves to train employees correctly.

That I have bosses that really care about me, not just on a working level but also a personal level as well.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
That you really don't get paid enough for the work you do, it's not the bosses fault at the store level, it's higher up

for me I find it stress free, I love my environment 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
too much to write, but its fun

When it's busy it's busy, but when it's slow, it's VERY slow.  Great management team and coworkers.  Most enjoyable part of the job is meeting new people every day and consulting with them on their needs.  Hardest part of the job is that once you sell, it's out of your hands and a lot can go wrong, but the customer always comes back to you, but you have no power to help them.

There is no penion plan once you leave or retire the corporate side of the brick they walk around with there heads up in the air like you owe them something 90 pervcent of the worker on the corporate side does not like to speak to you unless you speak first

well i like working at the brick very busy and fast environment however the management was very weak and discourage the employee. need to more focused what the employee's question or problem and solve it.

The Brick suffers from some of the setbacks of being owned and managed by a controlling partner, but the corporate office remains a casual and tolerant workplace. They like to hire and promote from within whenever possible.

Great relationships within location, good culture, but work / life balance non-existent. Systems are in need of updating. Great place to learn all about sales, retail etc.

Good place to have a sales career. This is a commission paid sales and if you are good at sales you can earn a very good living. There is always room for improvement but overall it was a fun place to work.

Nice place to work , good professional and supporting leadership

No complaints , just lack some clear growth opportunities.
