Since joining CES Plumbing, I can honestly say this has been the most positive and fulfilling work experience of my career. It’s rare to find a company that not only talks about valuing its people but actually shows it in every part of the business. From day one, the difference was clear. I was welcomed warmly during my interview — even during the height of COVID — by the office manager and the Director of Plumbing, and one of the owners personally took time out of his day to be part of the conversation. That small gesture set the tone for everything that followed.

The plumbing team — from apprentices to foremen to the office staff — is a tight-knit, supportive group that works well together and takes pride in everything we do. It never feels like you’re just a number. Leadership is present, involved, and committed to building a workplace that values input, encourages personal growth, and sets aggressive but achievable goals. There’s a shared sense of purpose, and despite technically being made up of multiple divisions, everyone is aligned and works as one team.

What really stands out is the company’s focus on growth and development. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience under your belt, CES gives you the opportunity to learn. There’s a strong mix of service work and project-based work, which keeps the job interesting and provides a broad spectrum of learning. Management is transparent, listens to concerns, and is proactive in resolving issues. That kind of support makes it easy to stay motivated and focused on doing quality work. And while I do have a bit of a commute, it’s more than worth it — and the company never gives me grief about it.

Before coming to CES, I didn’t fully understand how poorly I was treated in previous jobs. Now, I feel respected, supported, and challenged in all the right ways. This is a company that’s growing fast, not just in size but in the right direction — and I’m proud to be part of that journey.

This company is built specifically for the Condo Industry. Due to this you will only be able to work on and learn about 5% of the types of equipment our industry has to offer. If you
Want to work on MUA’s and boilers then maybe this makes sense for you.

Your days will be highly micromanaged in basically every way, and although there are great human beings that work here, unfortunately these people will never reach there full potential due to the compartmentalism put in place by upper management. They only want you
To know so much so they put up barriers and say “it’s not your job…someone else will take care of that”. 

If your an HVAC technician and considering this company just know that the work they have is less challenging technically, but because there is so much DHW in Condos the on call is very busy at times.

If your just starting to get into the trade and want to get your feet wet this may be a good place to start. However, they will start you off as a “Maintenance Mechanic” and NOT a 1st year apprentice. My recommendation is to only stay in a role like this for a short period of time. Finding an apprenticeship role in the Toronto area is doable if you use your network and call around enough. Squeeqy wheel gets the greese.

In summary. If your in specifically sales and are terrific at what you do this company may make sense. This company pays people that sell. If your a technician this will feel like just a job to you. There are many many talented HVAC Technicians that can also sell…maybe stay away because there is no incentive here.

Honestly speaking this company is not a bad start for a entry-level G2 mechanic. 
For someone that wants to get your feet wet
In the HVAC industry. 
In order for you to get to the next level I 
Don't think this is the place that you can Excel to that level. 

First of all let me start off by saying this, as a 
Licensed Trane HVAC educated mechanic 
You are pretty much being bullied and restricted by are upper management with respect to the scope of your practice. 
And oh yeah you better not red tag or shut any building down for that matter in the sense of hurting management pocket or else you'll be fired on the spot. 
In my opinion honestly this place is like a boot camp yes sir no sir right away sir or else you will be heavily discipline inside the management office. 
And shortly after you might be dismissed
without any real rationalization behind issue. 
Oh yeah you better pray to God that you do not get into any accident while in your service vehicle on the job because that can get you fired also. 
The point that I'm trying to make here is that  working for this company with a mortgage and real responsibility over your head is not good, there's an old saying out west that goes do not put all of your eggs in one basket, please get a union job thank you

The field staff at this employer are great and if you are a junior technician it’s a great place to
Get your feet wet. Unfortunately as you rise through the ranks, the overall culture of the company becomes very toxic. 
The upper management and ownership of the company are detached from the reality of the day to day operational challenges faced by field staff. They claim a healthy culture in the company,  and this may be true of office staff. Sadly for the leaders in the field that grind every day to ensure the safety and productivity of the field technicians, there is no respect or support. The poor reputation of this company continues to grow in the local787 and they struggle to attract the once top calibre talent that built their original success. This is a company that has grown too fast and does not have sound structural foundation to support its size and work load. Be warned if considering a career at the Complete Group.  It’s a choice you may regret making. 

Plumbing Team is stellar including Office Staff.  We are a tight knit bunch of technicians who enjoy working together
The company has a great balance of projects and service work which has allowed for a broad spectrum of learning for me and my teammates plus stable work hours
Lots of opportunity for growth here and leadership qualities are highly valued and encouraged by the Management Team.  They have put a focus on getting training as well for Plumbers and Apprentices. 
Management is also very supportive of the Plumbing Team and works to listen to team challenges and works towards resolving any issues
Enjoy Competitive Wages, Great Benefit package paid 100% by the company, they have RSP matching, a Tool Allowance after 6 months and 3 weeks vacation right from the start.  Full uniform package and a great vehicle with gas card plus an iphone is also included. 


Just gets busy around heating and cooling season start up which is expected. Sometimes we don’t get home until the late hours of evening but thats the nature of this environment. 

I believe that the office does thier very best to approve time off/emergency days for when we need to be with our families Example taking our kids to the doctors etc. 

We are lacking with communication between office and building management I feel. Quotes would be sent via email on the days of figuring out issues and months later the management in some, but not all cases, would not have the appropriate quotes to have issues repaired. 

Complete energy solutions has taught and given me great work experience. Overall this is a great company to work with and when issues do arise, with the building or personal, there’s always a solution.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The company had a great culture for a couple years.  Many of the team have left due to poor culture.  This was created by false promises from owners and lack of trust developed.   Singular focus is on profits not people.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typical day would be communicating with your team and dispatch to complete HVAC related scopes of work. Either service calls, maintenance or quoted work.

As a plumber working for CES Plumbing, I can honestly say this is the best team I’ve ever been part of. The team really takes pride in their work. The leadership truly cares about both the customers and the staff, which makes a huge difference in how we show up every day. I would highly recommend this company. This company has fair compensation, policies, benefits and career growth opportunities. Concerns are addressed in a timely manner and there's tons of opportunity for anyone to share their thoughts, ideas, opinions and feedback. 

Management and HR fail to address situations properly, offer little support, and are known to throw employees under the bus. Additionally, they demonstrate a lack of accountability for mistakes. Employees are not adequately rewarded for their hard work. The turnover rate is high, and long-term employees, while few, exhibit behavior that lacks consideration for others. There's a lack of promotion opportunities internally. The work environment is negative and unprofessional. If you have an interview , proceed with caution.

It's pretty simple... Work hard and be on time. Hard work and loyalty to the company are recognized by management. Annual increases are fair and based on performance. Employees have been with the company from the start and all appreciate the work-life balance management prioritizes with their teams.
