This plant in particular has a very poor track record for retaining new employees. There is no training for new workers other than 1 week of not needed safety as all you do is push a button, sit and if some thing stops. Call maintenance. Many get paid to work a week in training then quit their first shift.There is a handful of very skilled long term employees that keep their "cards close to their chest".
Job security? They are not approachable or friendly. You never see managers working with employees. Hands on is in the past for this giant company. It is all about engineers and numbers. So sit back, get a book and enjoy $23.00 dollars per hour for the rest of your life. Many long term employees have recently retired and they never stop in to say hello. That tells you something?

Do you like leadership that focuses on every single move you make, scrutinizes your behaviour and ensures it is told to you at the end of the year?  Again, look no further and come to Clorox.  Worst career move you could make if you are a high performer, achievement oriented and want to advance.  Leadership is seriously old school.  The good things are salary, pension and summer hours and it's an informal culture you can wear jeans to work every day if you want.  Be prepared to get picked apart all the time and sales can do no wrong.  Very bad experience.

Working with multiple systems.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working with my Manager and with some people who’s knowledge came from outdated process and with limited  curiosity.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not progressive and  restrictive.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Listening to nonsense, talking about obvious issues again and again, instead of solutions, and without action. Or wasting time to act  until the very last minute.

Too much gossip. Managers play favorites, they hardly walk on the floor and observe how workers perform. Diverse but definitely not inclusive. Very poor training plan. Limited growth. If management really want to save on overhead costs, they should trim the workforce by eliminating the contracts and agencies altogether, and not forcing everyone to go on forced leave. Cameras should be installed so they can calculate how much time they pay workers to sit and be on their phones every shift.

Pros: Very Light work 8/10 days but fast for sure as usual.
Cons: Not so friendly and helpful employees who can’t see you succeed as they couldn’t succeed themselves. Worst part is you are reviewed every 3 months not on the basis of your hard work and statistics but by word of mouth of the 80% employees of one hateful community who are not very respectful and can’t see you grow.

This was like working at a circus honestly. I was a little surprised for this size of company. So many opportunities to get employees involved but just care about the long term people. They have no real training other than 3 day courses. very overwhelming then they expect you to know.
Management very confused. The "wizard of Oz" needs to get out of his office in the front corner and participate. It has been 3 years and they have no HR department???? There are many that want to talk but afraid to.

I remember my very first day...it was when a large part of Ontario went black.  I showed up for my first shift only to find that the plant was closed (power had been restored at this point) the plant was asked to remain closed for a couple of days after the blackout.  I got paid for that !  It is or was the only company that made you go to the company Christmas party.  why you ask ? if you didn't go then you didn't get paid .  Yup you got paid to go to the party and it didn't cost you anything to go.  Win Win

Clorox is a strong company with reputable brands, but the internal culture is difficult. Employees often feel uneasy, as leadership does not foster open communication or trust. Senior management, including the VP, is largely disengaged from staff and rarely interacted outside of their office. This created a culture where people felt unsupported and morale remained low. The atmosphere is negative and draining.

Clorox is the great place to learn about retail business and grow. The work environment, ethics, culture of Clorox company is amazing.  balance between family life and work. 

Hardest part of the job - Clorox known for acquisition which is more assigned task for each employee. 

Enjoyable part of the job -  working as team and honor of company,  Investigating the root of problem and taking step to solve a problem as arrive,

Managers lack skills that can not be found in a book? There are a handful of skilled people who have no people skills to help the new generation or they just do not want to for the job security. It is a like a little cult in front office. Very quiet and not much fun or communication. It is a shame as there are good young people that want to learn but everybody is too busy putting out fires.
