When I started this job, I was eager to learn and grow, but the training and support were not what I expected. The workplace culture was immature and unprofessional, which made for a very difficult environment.

There was a notable lack of support and communication from leadership, especially when it came to workplace safety and resolving employee concerns. I felt that my well-being was not a priority. This led to a stressful and negative work environment, and I ultimately left due to the overall lack of support for my concerns and well-being.

The company's approach to employment felt unstable. Workers were frequently let go when business was slow, which created a lot of job insecurity.

During the time that I worked with Kamloops Augering & Boring I learned a lot about pipeline construction. The projects are very well managed and the employees are well taken care of. If you work hard you will learn a lot. Some projects will require you to work long days or nights (On my assigned project I often worked roughly 12 hour shifts 6 days a week) but in the end this job is well worth the effort! KAB often has many projects going on at once, so workers are sometimes moved from one project to another, which range all over Canada. Living arrangements are taken care of by management when relocation is necessary. I would definitely recommend Kamloops Augering & Boring to anyone interested in pipeline construction.

Great environment for those looking to work out of town, they cover all hotels and supply trucks for commutes to and from the jobs. Mainly they promote within the company and have a great HR and safety department. No matter the issue or question they all work great together to resolve things in the field as well as in office. Awsome team to be a part of! 100% recommend working here for its pay and work availability. 

While working at Kamloops Augering & Boring LTD, I learned many new skills. The company offers competitive pay and many work hours; as a result of this, the work days/ nights often lasted 10 - 12 hours. The number of rest days depends of the status of the current project and is ultimately decided by your supervisor. Relocation is frequent, you will be required to go wherever the next project is (LOA is provided). If you are willing to work long, hard days, then you will be rewarded.

Expect 12 hours shift, unpaid to travel (45 mins to a few hours), and dealing with a variety of different personalities (good to bad).

Safety culture is overkill from multiple incidents, scheduling is not accurate, and not for everybody.

Make great money but upper management sees you as a number due to the high turnover rate.

Only seasonal work due to project planning, better to be on EI than be in the shop as your hourly wage is less than working in the field.

When you go to work, the best thing is to be given the chance to be challenged, supported, and have the opportunity to use all of the knowledge in your background. The Crossing Group enables that by allowing you to ask questions, submit your own thoughts, and move ahead with many projects concurrently. The pace is fast, with moments to reflect periodically. Decisiveness and care are key, as you are working to complete projects and looking to future projects.

Poorly organized, no consideration for personal lives or needs. The more stupid you are, the faster you will move up in this company. No real schedule to speak of. 6 days on and 1 day off per week for months, which means a lot of time away from home with no full pay cheques for your time spent away. No compensation for travel or scheduling mistakes.
More of a social club for advancement than a competitive and professional environment.

The managing staff did fairly good with on-boarding, detailed responses and the time of response return. The field workers....oh man...40 year old guys with the mentality of  today's 15 year old's, trying to be a part of something that ended decades ago (party at work)...always making mistakes all day even of the simplest tasks (adding a bag of chemical to water)...lazy too...

Will hire anybody.  They also have a focus on not firing ANYBODY.  This has filled the ranks with under-achievers.

The upside of this is it is very easy to outshine all your coworkers and move up the ladder quickly.

The HR department is very difficult to deal with, but the pay is fair and the field management is all excellent.

If you’re looking at entering the oilfield and making some good money this is the place to start.

Pays very well, coworkers are great bunch and the work environment is structured, you have no probl knowing who is in charge. But the balance between work and home life is almost non existent. When the work season starts you can almost say goodbye to your family for a few months. Not a job for sensitive people or people who don't do well with stressful situations. Betsuited to single
