What is the best part of working at the company?
The residents were the best part of working there. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
PSWs at this facility are consistently overworked and burdened with an unfair workload. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment at this company is deeply toxic, largely due to consistently poor leadership — from the nursing department directors of wellness  to general management. There is a blatant lack of accountability, communication, and organization from those in charge, which poisons morale across the building. PSWs are pushed to their limits with unreasonable workloads and receive little to no support or recognition in return. The constant mismanagement creates a chaotic atmosphere where teamwork breaks down, and staff are left to fend for themselves. It’s demoralizing to work so hard in a system that clearly doesn’t value or respect its frontline workers.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day as a PSW at this company is nonstop, physically and mentally draining. You’re expected to do far more than your role entails — often picking up the slack for multiple departments. PSWs are responsible not only for direct personal care, but also for tasks that should fall under housekeeping, dietary, and nursing. You’re constantly moving, rarely getting proper breaks, and the expectations are unrealistic. Despite being the backbone of resident care, PSWs are stretched thin.

The Elden in itself as a company was a beautiful place to work at as it truly had some remarkable people and residents that made the job great when working conditions and expectations  were actually followed. 

Staff and residents on multiple occasions voiced many discrepancies within the company, the cleanliness, resident negligence and safety and when voicing concerns to management, they simply did not care and patterns within the workplace showed how the more valid concerns with evidence you’d bring up the more managers viewed you as a problem. Even if they asked to have been address about these issues. 

To protect themselves management would put together a list to show on paper that they would address concerns however nothing would ever actually change within the workplace of the disgusting conditions the residents rooms, communal areas and nursing station. 

The huge concerning issues start with management, especially our DOC, within the place itself as they create a toxic atmosphere. 
There is no guidance or accountability. Management lies to protect their lack of accountability in the workplace and if you actually care about the place and residents well being and safety  in this field of work, I’d suggest not considering this place as your place of hire, as you will not be heard, deemed as problematic and have no proper support. 

Since the end of 2018 I have been lucky enough to work with the management and operation teams of The Elden. 

The Elden saw potential in me at a time where other companies did not, they gave me an opportunity to work to prove myself and invested in my growth as a professional.

I was able to work my way through the company starting as the Activities Director before moving over to F&B. Throughout my journey, I was given the opportunity to learn from each and every manager, including the operations team. They helped develop my knowledge of the business and of the roles I took on. 

The Elden is so special and has already proved to be an outstanding establishment for the residents and the staff. The management team is so keen to teach those who want to learn and to support those who need it. The Elden is a place where you are valued and you are given the opportunity to thrive and grow. 

I consider myself so lucky to have been given the chance to work at The Elden. There are no words important enough to perfectly explain how grateful I am for the opportunities I have been provided. 

Although my time at The Elden has come to an end, I sincerely hope to cross paths with the company again in the future - they have something really special and I can't wait to see it thrive!

Working at this retirement home has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported by both management and staff. The leadership team is not only professional and organized but also genuinely cares about employees' well-being and growth. They listen, communicate openly, and create a positive work environment where everyone feels valued.

The morale among the team is exceptional - we support each other, celebrate wins together, and handle challenges as a unit. There’s a true sense of camaraderie that makes every shift enjoyable. The staff here are compassionate, hard-working, and dedicated to providing the highest level of care to our residents.

The residents are the heart of this place. Building relationships with them has been an absolute joy. Their stories, wisdom, and appreciation make every day meaningful. It's not just a job - it’s a chance to make a real difference in someone’s life, and that’s incredibly fulfilling.

I worked here for approximately 5 months, both as a dishwasher & a server. If you like working in dynamic, fast paced environments this is a great place to work. Most residents are incredibly kind and very sweet, having been able to meet and work with so many of them has been a pleasure. Management is very flexible with scheduling and will generally work with you to set up a schedule which fits your availability. If you are a student or just looking for part-time or evening/weekend work, this is the perfect job. The work itself can sometimes be stressful, in part due to the nature of working in a nursing or LTC home, but you would find that anywhere, and it goes away with a little experience. Overall, the job has been rewarding and I am glad to have had the opportunity to work at The Elden.

Great place to work, everyone is so friendly (staff and residents). 
Easy to get the hang of, it's a good pace not too slow but not too fast. 
Both the staff and management are very helpful if you run into an issue. I felt comfortable going to any of the managers if I needed to discuss something important.  
I would highly recommend applying for a job here. As a high school student you make good money, it pays more than student wage. The hours are also really good. 
The hardest part would be learning all of the resident's names, but once you do it's smooth sailing. The residents are extremely nice, some of them can have their days but they're only human so it's expected. 
Working at the Elden gave me tons of great work experience, I improved my hospitality skills and my interpersonal skills. Getting to know the residents was also a great experience, hearing their stories and seeing them happy was amazing. 



I had the pleasure of working at The Elden of Bradford, and it was truly a wonderful experience. As a past employee, I was consistently impressed by the supportive and professional environment created by both the staff and management. What made the experience truly special, though, were the amazing residents. Their shared stories, wisdom, and daily interactions had a lasting impact on me, bringing joy and meaning to every day I spent there.

The Elden of Bradford is not only a welcoming place to work, but also an excellent environment for personal and professional growth. They actively promote from within and truly value their human capital, creating opportunities for team members to learn, develop, and advance their careers. I’m grateful to have been part of such a positive and enriching workplace.

The Elden has been a very positive work environment that has allowed for career growth and development. Working at The Elden has allowed me to advance my career and gain valuable skills and experience throughout the years. The team members at The Elden are always positive, encouraging and welcoming to new staff. The management team is often approachable with any concerns and it is evident that as a whole, they work well together. The Elden values their staff and encourages them to grow within the company, as well as providing them with the tools to advance their skills. Highly recommend working for The Elden!

 At first it was a great place to work at. It felt like a team and everyone got along but that changed after more staff came on. ALL I CAN SAY IS DRAMA you will have a coworker ratting  out  other coworker just to kiss up to the boss. Management does not care about you as a person all you are to them is body to work. Understaff always  because most of the time it is the same people calling in sick or don't show up at all and noting gets done about. Pay  is not good for all you do you. The only good thing I can say about the Elden is that THE RESIDENTS ARE THE SWEETEST PEOPLE YOU WILL EVER MEET. THE ARE THE ONLY RESSON I WENT TO WORK EVERYDAY.

Working at the Elden of Bradford has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The environment is welcoming, supportive, and full of positive energy. The team I work with is not only professional but also genuinely caring, which makes every day enjoyable and meaningful.

One of the most fulfilling parts of the job is getting to know the residents. They are kind, wise, and full of amazing stories. Building relationships with them has been both heartwarming and inspiring. It's truly a privilege to be a part of their lives and to contribute to their comfort and happiness.

Overall, it's a wonderful place to work, with a great sense of community and purpose.
