Higher ups could not care less about you. They don't care if you're literally dying. Worst experience I have EVER had working anywhere. Horrible, horrible management. Extremely rude and selfish. They have you cleaning up to NINETEEN ROOMS A DAY or MORE. They expect you to have a room that's TWO FLOORS and has MULTIPLE BEDROOMS, a FULL kitchen PLUS the dishes and a full patio done within an hour. Literally a full house. You couldn't pay me enough to go back here. Not ever.

If you are in school, have an other job, or you are doing something else with your life apart of working here you’ll be fine! 
It’s a unionized hotel (for restaurant/housekeeping and bellman) and you get benefits after 9 months. The staff changes WAY TOO OFTEN they should know they are doing something bad, many of the managers don’t know what they are doing, the general manager definitely don’t know what she’s doing. 
There’s lots of drama and unfairness with the way some people are treated (like in the schedule).

What is the best part of working at the company?
The tips. The Management was abusive to their staff. They would lie make up stories and have their favorites

You had absolutely no support from the Management team.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic. Created by Management. They blame the employees for everything and take no responsibility for their actions.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Hi pace busy with guests. Lifting alot of heavy luggage up the stairs.

i work night shift for the company since the I started year 1995 to 2007. I used to work at night.  And when my family came to canada  i takecare of our daughter since my wife go to work at day time.  I enjoyed my work and make some friends even now we have a contact.

I learn a lot from work we done and the people i work with.  About the Management they are supported their workers.

working at the grand hotel was one of the best experiences of my life. i learnt so much and not working there today i miss it.
the hours were very long but the people i worked with made it fly by. my favourite part about working in banquets were the weddings, they were so much fun and so beautiful, it was an amazing feeling to have that i was able to be apart of something so special.

There were problems with the building. Some of the staff were unpleasant everyday they came to work and many people would complain about wanting to leave. There were demands that stretched beyond my job title. There were discussions about wage expectancy that were never brought to fruition. There were some very undesirable customers and incidents at times.

I believe that the staff should get to use the ammenities half hour before or after there shift to bring down the stress level among staff.There were days when it would be quiet and then there were days where it would be busy. The hardest part of the job was meeting expectations that were not housekeepings department and still doing our job.

I was hired to work as a full time staff and towards few days before my confirmation management lay me off for some unreasonable reason basically using staff over a period of time, working environment very busy with only one person a station with minimum guidance with unreasonable expectations

Learn new trend in hospitality industry and polished my skilled in all department whether it is front office how to assist guest or how to clean room. Very productive environment to work with great guidance under senior staff.

Please review the stars provided. Work life balance was good. Salary was little less than expected. Benefits were all employer paid. Job security depended on quality. Management was considerate about employees and Job Culture was awesome with good and helpful people around.
