What is the best part of working at the company?
Job security for Union workers. Colleagues are great.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management that often has no experience and don’t care for their staff. They only value and respect themselves and their “personal family” to hire and accommodate their own relatives and friends.


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Awful. There is always a blame game for anything that happens. Management looks to create problems and never tries to solve it correctly or fairly. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I enjoyed working on my own with no supervision. I knew what I had to do each day and completed all my work efficiently, safely and detail oriented.

If there are issues with your superiors, Human Resources will support managers over the employees. Various employees complained and no action was ever taken. 
I heard this over a number of different depts.

There was no point of being a hard worker because you didn’t get recognition over others that weren’t hard workers.

SickKids is a world-class hospital for a reason. I know employees can have very different and individualized experiences in the same organization, so I know my review isn't applicable for everyone... but my experience has been nothing but wonderful. Supportive team, supportive management, flexibility with work hours, and great benefits. The strong team dynamic that I have been fortunate to be a part of definitely makes a huge difference to the work experience in general.

I worked there for about four years. Some great people work there, unfortunately management doesn’t recognize good people so turnover is high. Also saw and experienced occasional bullying from colleagues. I would describe the culture as fairly toxic. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Inclusive environment .. They are very open to employees from every sector of the society.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Sometimes getting intimidated by the experienced colleagues 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Flexible, inclusive environment and care for all employees

Not worth the hype and hugely underpays its employees and overworks them without any opportunities for growth. Unprofessional behaviour from managers with overall micromanagement. Unorganized HR and other support personnel. Hospital is good and clean and the clinical staff are great- research institute not so good. 

If you enjoy being under paid and over worked, being scrutinized for every small mistake and working with hypocritical management with zero chance of growth or opportunity then join sickkids!  

Great place to learn new things and improve, however, it has a toxic work culture. Management  has a co-operate culture, trying to bring more funds is the main  focus
