The Kidney Foundation of Canada

The Kidney Foundation of Canada BC Branch had me coordinate two fundraising events (held concurrently in Abbotsford & Osoyoos, BC) at which I raised over $21,000 in 3 days (122% and111% of pledged goals, respectively), and was responsible for all aspects of the events, including direct fund requests, participant recruiting, fund collection and reporting, tax receipt management, online recruitment, local partnerships, media, volunteer recruiting, and event day logistics.    I enjoyed the work and was proud to help, they provided the materials and guidance and administrative processing.

- Assisted Administrative Assistant and Managers, filed documents, 
typed and mailed correspondence and receipts
- Answered busy multi-line switchboard and transferred calls to    appropriate Manager by using empathic, friendly and acute  listening skills, responded to incoming enquiries
Took donations by phone, volunteered at fundraising events in various capacities

I do this job from home and there is not much I can say about a typical work day, but when i did my training in the office, i learned things such as providing great customer service over the phone. It was a nice and friendly environment and still is. My co-workers are great and kind people who work very hard. And even though i got to work from home, there were hard parts of this job such as getting leads from clients.

long hours with no support

The job was to recruit volunteers to blanket the city for monetary donations. Group of employees had great camaraderie. This was a very casual environment at the time, we did our recruiting in the evening. The people we would contact were very polite and said they could or not. Door to door calling for financial donations was a very acceptable and safe way to do this, at that time. 

Job was exactly as advertised. Phoning people asking them to volunteer as door to door canvassers for this charity. Lots of management support and work in a friendly atmosphere.I could not say enough good about this organization.

I did not work here as a paid staff member I was placed here to do my work practicum after I finished my schooling. I learned a lot in my four week term here While I was not working directly with the office admin I learned a lot from her. She was always willing to answer questions and give advice.

I was there on a school related 4 week work placement so I was never paid for the position. Otherwise, it was a good place to work overall.
The supervisor was polite and the organization was very informative.

Have had a great time working here. Hours are not steady anymore and understand the situation we are all going through during these trying times. I would highly recommend the job as you get to work independently most of the day. I have had a great experience working here. 

My job was picking up and delivering clothes for cleaning; when not behind the wheel, I was cleaning the clothes back at the plant.  I enjoyed the customer contact and being somewhat on my own on the road.
