I've been in the culinary industry a very long time and what a rewarding experience it has been seeing the pleasure of what I've made through the clients reactions working with many people from around the world and the experience from the chef's I've worked with  not to mention the adrenalin rush of get er done the clanging and banging of pots around you as the brigade of chefs go about there day to please the customer and working with and sampling fresh farm produce , meats poultry and fish  that a typical customer might not eat in there life time. That's cool

From early morning friendly smiles, greetings, chatting all that working and being productive at the same time.

My management means the wold for me here in Vancouver.

Work culture is work with a smile, really contagious even in the hardest days.   

There's nothing hard, we help each other like a good team we are.

The Listel Hotel is a really good place to work at. There are a great manager and friendly co-workers. The salary is good for part-time job. I worked for 2 days a weak during school time and 4-5 days per weak in the semester break. After doing the job, I know how to clean at least a room, moreover, the hotel has few rooms which are similar to a small house, so I can know how to clean a house well. My major is Health Science, so hygiene is very important, cleaning is one way to keep hygiene.

I worked with a passion for a boss who allowed me to do what needed to be done knowing that I had the hotel and guest  best interest in mind .This job freedom allowed me to take on more responsibility and enabled me to prioritize work and the needs of fellow employees and hotel guests .My day began with a with a complete building inspection ,responding to work orders ,completing tasks quickly but with an eye for detail .

The workplace culture here is great. You get to know your managers and fellow employees very well. Really feels like one big family. Very fast-paced work environment. There is always lots to do but co-workers are there to help and managers to support you. They are very accommodating to schedule changes and vacation time. Overall a very good place to work. You'll definitely learn a thing or two about the service industry. 

Management is disorganized and doesn’t care about us. It’s difficult working when your coworkers all complain about how much they hate it here. Everyone is selfish and rude. Staff housing is disgusting.  No one cleans up after themselves. Loud music playing into the night from night staff that come home and start cooking after their shift. 

Supportive superiors &, professional colleagues. Our director is not just getting us to work but is working with us. Very respectful. Managers are appreciative and approachable. Really work as a team. 

You will work hard and get paid fairly, however, there are far too many managers and this is not a place of character or support.  Upper management is impossible to get a hold of, and when you do, they have no answers or solutions.

When I go to work, I feel a sense of excitement. The time I spend here passes very quickly and beautifully. In the management area, people are very polite and willing to teach. They don't judge you when you make a mistake. On the contrary, they support you.

As someone who was relatively new to this industry, I found the fast-paced environment very conducive to on the job training. I enjoyed the staff and the overall climate of cooperation and assistance.
