Working at Lowe Martin can be difficult and stressful. All the good managers and workers leaved the company. My experience working there was a mix experience. But the company now is having a management problem and toxic environment working conditions for a employee to work in. (Drama) No payroll employees working at the company full time and currently i and few workers wages are missing pay. It used to be a great place to work but these days everything that can go wrong, is happening to the organization. Not a great place to work in, your wages never increase and headaches after headaches dealing with current management and owners breathing down your neck on everything from washroom breaks and taking a plastic fork or spoon from the cafeteria kitchen is a issue in this company.. . I don’t recommend anyone that is looking to start a new position to start off working here. Two thumbs down for work environment drama and stability of employment long term. 

My supervisor, and my department in general were absolute lovely people. The work was fun and engaging and there were always new tools and ideas being implimented. 

Even though I went into the position full of positivity, I found some of the people I was around were very unhappy with their work experience and the company culture. After some time, that effected my own morale. Some people think that upper management truly doesn't care for them, and that sours the atmosphere. There's also a lot of complaining whenever a new change is initiated. People fear for their jobs. This makes sense, as print grows, it reduces the amount of labour needed (think old fashioned farming to modern farming), and people fear being made obsolete.

I was a veteran in one area of the print industry when I joined Lowe-Martin, and I found a supportive environment where management and co-workers fostered my growth and learning in the areas I was falling short. The work culture is positive, the management approachable and benevolent. My current position of Production Specialist challenges my organizational skills to the maximum, but the experience of seeing the work to successful completion and knowing I rose to the challenge is most rewarding. Great team, personal growth through demanding work, results that benefit a great number of people - what more can you ask for?

I did not feel respected as a human being while i worked at Lowe-Martin. The managers would not communicate with you directly or clearly about what was expected of you most of the time, and treated you badly if there was nothing to do but sweep the floor. Their punch clock system took about a week to memorise how to use properly, and I never felt like I knew exactly if I had punched in properly because there were so many job codes and no explanation as to what to do if a job was finished and you came back from break.

Lowe Martin acquired RP Graphics in 2015 and is now know as Toronto Operations.  Former RP Graphics President, now SR. VP and General Manager put together a team of competent managers, cut the waste and mismanagement and has been able to lead a successful business since the previous reviews were posted.

He is now doing the same for the Ottawa operations. Cutting the waste, so I don't think the previous reviews apply to how the company is changing for the better.

I'm seeing positive things - 5 years of service here.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Getting your day done and going home.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Unorganized management team...co-workers are petty and secretive.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Everyone is scared of the managers and will throw you under the bus to save themselves.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Clock in...get an assignment from your manager...keep your head down and do your work...talking is not allowed...take your breaks and lunch on time...clock out...go home.

Good but must be cautious as dangerous workplace environment (heavy objects, machines, ear plugs, safety boots, pump trucks, chemicals). Although friendly staff, hard long hours (6AM - 7PM shift) with short breaks but short weeks (MON - WEDNESDAY) and good benefits. Overall good experience but too stagnant and repetitive to do over long period of time.

The management must see the value of their employees and give them more advancement and raises. Employees are always complaining about the wages, the management must see the worth of each employees and not just the operators of the machine but also the helpers who work harder than the operators. Employees are nice and fun to work with.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part was leaving the company after 10 years of dedication that had no appreciation by the owner.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with the incompetent management!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The culture is brutal, senior management comes first in all respects and the staff are taken for granted.

Love working in fast paced environment. Always on the go and will do whatever it takes to get the job done. Worked great in team or on my own. Always willing to learn new things. My co-workers are amazing and always get along great. My supervisor is great at motivating us all. The hardest part of the job is always wanting to do better. Most enjoyable would be the environment in general.
