The Lung Association

Although this was a volunteer position for me, I looked forward to every workday as each day was packed with learning opportunities. 

The management was very supportive as they provided and equipped me with the skills needed to be successful on job. 

At the end of the volunteer program withThe Lung Association, I was equipped with some administrative skills I needed to thrive in other related jobs.

The staff are amazing, dedicated people who are the best to work with.  Unfortunately management is terrible, pay is terrible benefits are terrible and there is constant turnover in staff as a result.  They also cannot seem to decide how to organize the company.  They fire people, reconfigure their job, then hire someone to replace them several months later, then a year later do the same cycle again.  They do not value employees who are committed to the cause and organization.

Projects: Provincial respiratory programs quality and outcome reviews, eHealth committee support, project support, document evaluation and translation, website and resource design, Provider Education Program promotion, liaison to the Local Health Integration Networks, Primary Care Asthma Program quality support, bilingual support through the Lung Health Information Line, association support to committees.

Data entry as a daily tasks including fill in lots of clients informaiton in the company database and special software. 
I learned some software and tried to some ways efficiently. 
Management is not nice. 
The most enjoyable part of the job is working with co-workers instead of manager.

An exceptional group of individuals who make working extremely fun. Interacting with people to encourage sales. Sorted out the delivered follows and distributed them to various locations to be sold

This company was a challenging and dynamic place to work. Each day the tasks were varied. I enjoyed supporting and organizing the President in the various daily tasks.

The Lung Association of Ontario has been taken over by a few men, Two old and two middle age all on power trips.

Lots of freedom, little accountability and unrealistic expectations.

Don't know how they keep the doors open.

a typical day was i was working part time and learned customer service skills and the hardest part was people hanging up the management was good with a good culture

Loved working for The Lung Association as it was giving back to our community. This volunteer program of selling 50/50 tickets was a fun experience and would recommend it to young individuals.

This is a great place to grow your career, but, as with most non-profits, you're going to be busy. That's not a bad thing.
