The group of people I worked with were amazing, they made the job worth going to. The pay is alright, pretty on par with what ptbo clinic offers, but there are NO benefits other than a silly card that gets you private accommodations if you ever have a hospital stay.. oh and their pension plan that they don't start contributing to until you've been there 2 years. I find it horrible that Healthcare workers who've had to put themselves in student debt don't get health benefits working in Healthcare. In addition, they are grossly understaffed. Their employees are overworked because they're so understaffed and they won't hire people until everyone quits because they're tired of being overworked then there's nobody left to train the new person and if there is someone left to train them, they can't offer them proper training because they also have to run a clinic..  administration is a joke, people who've been there for years will make less money than a new hire with no experience doing the exact same job and when you bring it to administration attention and ask to be brought up to their same pay grade, they either ignore you or just straight up say no because it's "not in the budget". That's not a good way to keep long time and very qualified employees. I would not recommend working at the medical centre after my experiences there. They also require vaxx now for their employees which I find horrendous. So many skilled workers who worked through the pandemic in uncomfortable and hot PPE all day are now being fired for no reason other than their right to choose what goes into their bodies. Such a shame.

A typical day at this workplace would include doing everything in your power to protect your mental health.
There is nothing I would recommend about this role with this company. The hardest part of the job is the lack of policies around your job as a Lab Patient Technician. The rules and "policies" change regularly, however they are tailor suited to a select employee that enjoys breaking said rules so they are always being re-written by HR (who is also the boss of the lab) since she enables the employees behavior by making excuses.
I am also a patient here and it has went as far as me needing to block my caller ID display because otherwise I won't get an answer. 
After working here I had to increase my regular therapy appointments to be weekly due to the trauma and abuse I experienced regularly.

Housekeeping staff are not paid nearly enough for what they have to do . I have done housekeeping many years and the pay the medical centre offers is a joke . Removing bio hazards and working in an environment where you are putting your health and safety at risk deserves a higher paycheck , ESPECIALLY during a pandemic . 
This is a PUBLIC medical centre . the people who clean are not only keeping the residents of Peterborough safe who visit the centre they are also protecting the doctors, nurses ,secretaries, pall roll , management who need to be there ... pay them accordingly and maybe you won’t have to rehire staff every 6 months !

The team is amazing, go to work and do your job but also have a good time.

Probably getting all the work complete, it’s alot

It’s beautiful, we all get along so well and we work close to get our work done 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sitting and attaching records to charts, telling a terrible joke, and doing the same thing for 9 hours

I spent years at this position where I was over worked, under appreciated and taken advantage of. I bust my butt off and it was never enough for admin. The turnover was ridiculous (I counted 14 people to come and go in the first year) but I was not in a position to leave myself. The administration would constantly ignore our pleas for help and guilt you for not covering shifts last minute.  They also did not take serious concerns about specific personal behavior seriously. You were replaceable. They did not care about you. And I doubt it has gotten any better

In this workplace for cleaning  you must be able to click with the group of people you work with or be judged!! When you are new you will be treated poorly!! You will not feel welcomed! And you will be taking on more than you should! And you also must be fast!  It’s suppose to be a team effort!! There is no team, it’s everyone out for themselves! And if someone has a issue with you instead of talking to you about it, they will go to straight to administration about it!! Not a good place to work for!! Considering!!

Management expects you to work to their schedule, your availability does not matter. With the constant turn over in employees, there was never any stability and on the off chance that you do manage to get a steady work environment, never expect to go beyond minimum wage. Management is unwilling to see their employees as anything other than dispensable and treats them as such. If you are looking for a stable work environment with flexible hours, and a chance of moving up in the company, this is not the job for you.

The management is very poor. As casual staff you will be Very rarely called/emailed for shifts, and when you do and accept them be prepared for them to be cancelled on you frequently. Their system for calling in casual staff is ridiculous. Their system entails having physicians request the float they want means they will choose the favourties that have been there forever most of the time. Dont waste yiur time. Keep looking

very little respect found for others - all out for themselves, lack of knowledge of current systems, generational gap, say one thing do another culture  

patient care concerns rushed as appointments overbooked, secretaries are rude in most offices

most fun is in the basement, lab and DI

Hardest part of the job is the drama caused by housekeeping manager. Causing conflict between coworkers. Trying to get people to comment on conversations between people. Constant turnover of housekeeping staff. Constantly short staffed
