The Mississauga Food Bank

The Mississauga Food Bank offers a welcoming environment to clients and to the volunteers working in the office and warehouse. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and great mentors to those looking to get employment experience. I learned how to manage the front desk and do daily duties that include welcoming clients, providing information in person and by phone, answering and forwarding calls, processing outgoing mail and using the postage machine. The most enjoyable part of this job was helping those in need and providing excellent customer service.

Great place to work, people there are very nice and supportive. The working environment is clean and relaxed. Every week workers have the opportunity to show their appreciation to each other on an app called high-five which is a great way of building teamwork within the organization. 

Overall a great place to do some volunteer work on  an occassional basis. The company does a lot to help the community.The job itself was fairly simple and it was easy to work independently. The staff is friendly and organized.

Great work culture, but not great pay. Very understanding and good work-life balance. Opportunities to work from home. Staff are very friendly and management is transparent and open to feedback. Downside is a lot of travel to different food bank sites and stakeholders, but travel costs are reimbursed.

The Mississauga Food Bank is a non-profit organization where no one goes hungry. The food bank is aimed to provide the fresh and quality food to people who need it, irrespective of their gender, race or nationalities and demographics.

They were the best in all sense and conditions, from wages, benefits, relationship, etc. actually I don't have any negative words for the time I spent working for them.

I volunteer at Mississauga Food Bank. It was an eye opening experience to see so many people in need of basic needs.
 
It was a humbling experience and also a great pleasure to help in such a small way.

When I volunteered it was a positive atmosphere, everyone was very helpful and I had a great time. The supervisors and other volunteers all worked hard to follow the guidelines and do the best job possible.

Everyone was pretty nice and the work was never stressful. All you had to do was many cold calls, attend in-person and provide great service. I found mentors that were very helpful and the work was guided well.
