The Moncton Hospital

My experience from day one at this hospital was awful. Management does not keep their word, you will be left to fend for yourself without answers to any of your questions because absolutely nobody responds to emails or returns messages, you will feel like you are in the way every second you are in training, employees with seniority will raise their noses to you and make you feel inferior every day, part time positions are constantly bumped and those workers end up taking the casual positions so you will not get any shifts after training if you are hired as casual (even if you're bilingual), the workplace gossip will have you feeling like you're in a daycare for adults, they have no staff parking spaces left so you have to pay $8/day to park your car, schedule rotations are constantly changing so don't expect to do the shifts you were hired to do, pays are screwed up and you have to chase people to get money you worked for and are entitled to, and the pay is not even worth it once parking fees, union dues and everything else is taken off. The pay looks appealing, but you end up giving most of it back to them. I always thought I would love working in a hospital setting, but after getting tossed around like a yo-yo (that is honestly what it felt like), I can say with 100% honesty that this is the worst, most disorganized and unprofessional place I've ever worked and I have never been so discouraged considering I spent thousands of dollars on an education to get me there. If you are thinking of applying, do yourself a favor and don't. Something way better will come along.

A typical day at work involved reading the log book, processing doctor's orders and checking for dose, interactions, duplicate therapy etc and sometimes suggesting alternatives and ensuring medication delivered. I learned about some different types of medications that I  had not investigated before. The management can be quite helpful also but can be hard to please. Most of the co-workers are very good workers and get along. The hardest part of the job was being very concise and some calculations and getting everything done within specified period.  The most enjoyable part of the job was typing medication information and assisting patients with the individual medication(s) for each individual in order to ensure wellness.

I was a casual employee at the Moncton Hospital, starting as a housekeeper. I was cleaning rooms and changing beds. All staff members seemed disgruntled about each other and the work environment. I made the best of my situation and did my work and minded my own business. I was offered a position in portering and I took it. The employees weren't any happier in this department. I was offered a job outside of the hospital and took it. Management tried different things to try and resolve different situations but at the same time they felt helpless because of the unions. I really enjoyed the portering part of the job. I had met a lot of people and made some good friends with the employees.

The most soul sucking toxic workplace I’ve ever had the misfortune of working for. Management is a joke and have no interest in how the dept runs. There is no team and no leadership. Bad behavior is rewarded and hard work is punished. Don’t bother applying for anything here. You’d be better off working at the city dump. 
This place is a complete joke

it is a great place to be at and miss this job so much wish i could just go back. the people there are great but the draama between everybody is unreaal and wouldnt even believe it if you seen it with your own eyes but its a great place to work and like i said i miss it so much there if i could go back i deff. would be going back there before anywheres else.

The work is absolutely essential, in preventing the spread of pathogens and infections to patients and staff,  both intra and post- operatively:  But some people did not show respect for the people doing that job of
Medical Device Reprocessing.

I was employed at the Moncton Hospital for over 30 years. 
Overall I had an amazing career with varied work experiences.
I learned numerous skills and met and enjoyed wonderful co workers and patients.
There was nothing else I would rather do than being an RN.

No sense of guidance to what has to be accomplished for the work that has to be done. Things were done as it a raised at the moment, task were divided among workers and one can not perform or join the other team.    

Management really cares about their staff and the CEO really cares about making a difference. With Horizon being such a big company it has taught me how to work with my team that is placed throughout the region and how to network along the way. Great opportunities within.

It was an awful experience there was no training multiple different trainers who did everything differently and very unfriendly environment  , a lot of people call in sick long hours just very chaotic
