The Ranch Roadhouse

A typical day involves working with large sums of money, acting responsibly with it and not abusing the position. I work with a lot of customers and many times theres confusion with orders. Problem solving and communication must be a key skill to have to work efficiently and fast. There are a lot of new staff coming in as we head into the summer months so as a more experienced staff member I must be welcoming and be willing to help others learn the skills that I've perfected. People always ask, Do you like working at the ranch? It always kind of makes me take a step back and think do I really like it here. There are days where I;m just so frustrated and cannot wait to be done with my shift, but in the end, I do like working there based on the fact that most of my closest friends work with me and being able to have fun with the job makes me stay. So I guess the best part is the friendships that Ive made from there is the best part and is one of the reasons I;m still working here.

Constantly ignores labour laws, and when brought up the answer is always "its just the industry". Bartenders constantly rip off costumers. House tip is just a way of managers ripping off bartenders. Ive worked there for over 2 years and have never got a raise or been trained for anything else. They rarely promote porters to bartenders, even though a porter knows more about the bar then the bartenders. 

Although a lot of the people that work there have become like family. The security, porters and even some bartenders are good friends of mine. zXA

Loved working there, great atmosphere, amazing managers, made so many great and close friends there, and saw amazing shows for free while I was working. Loved the combination of country songs and top 40 for our playlist. If country isn't your type of music, I wouldn't recommend working the early shifts, I did however so it worked out.

Fast pace good exercise Expect to be on your feet all night 
Can be stressful first shift then becomes smooth sailing very attentive management probably best part time job ive had  shifts start late is only crazy busy around 11pm 
Around 2 am is when the closing starts 
Taking out trash focus on rest of the emptys cant miss any  to avoid shortage next shift whipping the railings 

While working there I learnt a lot about how to deal with all types of people and hard situations. The managers had a close relationship with employees which I found very enjoyable and made things move a lot smoother.

Work weekends when needed not guaranteed hours, I watch the  door, do pad down on male patrons and search female purses. Staff is friendly and management is willing to listen.

working in this specific industry takes a special kind of person, it can get very hectic and stressful. if you cant handle pressure you cant do this job. also you need to be okay never sleeping again and not getting much money.

Good place to work with a very solid staff.
As it is with any bar industry job it does have it's challenges, ups and downs. But the community family environment they created made it all worthwhille

The ranch is a very fun work environment for young people. It is an extremely social environment, the managers are very helpful and kind, and usually the coworkers are too.

Fun job, flexible with students' school hours. Set up bar at the beginning of the night, attend to customer needs, maintain clean work space, watch out for customer safety
