The Record

Working for the record hasn't been the most exciting experience but I definitely have learned a lot from it and I've learned how to deal with people who are rude and disrespectful to us,  but I have learned how to deal with them respectfully to them because two wrongs don't make a right.  The working condition is not great because if we don't get as many flyers as we need people are not going to get everything that they need but that is not our fault it is the records for because I didn't give it to us they also give us flyers that are late and so they expect us to go back around and deliver it again on Friday or Saturday like it can get pretty late which is really annoying.  Get paid every other week about $40-$50 and it's not that much especially in the conditions of the weather we have to work in the rain, heat or snow.

I only worked for The Record's distribution centre for a month because the plant was closing down and moving to a different location.  A typical day at work would consist of either manually putting papers together or standing at a sorting machine manually placing paper onto the machine as it automatically sorted the individual flyers.  Workers there were friendly and helpful.  The hardest part of the job was having to wear ear plugs around the machine.  It was hard because someone could be trying to get your attention, but not even realize it.  We also had to stand all day every day, which got exhausting after a while.  The most enjoyable part of the job was that it was so simple!

My days while working flyer delivery was very good, except when the weather would be bad, for example when it would rain or snow, it would take longer to deliver the flyers to the houses. I liked working this because i would interact with people from the neighbourhood and they would always be so nice and greet me, they were never rude to me. The hardest part about this job was the weather because the weather was never the same everyday so i had to get used to the different weather changes. The most enjoyable part about this job was walking around my neighbourhood and getting to know the people around there and finding out what type of people they were.

You are at the mercy of an infinite # of external influences, causing delays , but no matter how hard you try to be diligent in delivering the papers as quickly as possible , if you receive them late you’ll deliver them late . 
Your the face the subscribers see , so if you’re late . . . 

Just a simple kick off to try and it went well until i decided against it. my first real job truthfully. For me personally it was convenient and i was glad to have the experience as a youth but now its time to get a job thats more serious and scheduled. The Record was just something to try out but was always too shy to get something anything more serious. The job experience was worth it though.

like I said its good for a middle schooler, no one else! the job was a pain in thanks to the terrain I had to bike in and the pay was none existent!!!

I did the same thing everyday, waited for the newspaper to arrive then i sorted them out and stacked them. Stacked and sorted newspapers, prioritized and made sure I was on time for people to get their newspaper.

this was my first ever job and it entailed organizing the flyers that were set out to delivery and delivering them on specific days. The job itself didn't take more than an hour and i quiet enjoyed walking from house to house. However, you do have to be prepared to work under any weather circumstance.

I would deliver in any weather ect. Snow, Rain, hail, Sunny weather's. I learned to deliver in a nice courteous manner. The workplace culture is a nice calm place to be. The most enjoyable part of the job is to talk to people and see how there day's are going
