The Rig Shop Ltd

The Rig Shop was a great place to work overall. It’s a family run business with a tight knit environment, and most days involved administrative tasks, scheduling, payroll support, answering phones, and keeping the office organized. I learned a lot about multitasking and managing different responsibilities, and the workplace itself was very steady and respectful.

The owners and the general manager, Dave McKim, were absolutely incredible to work with. They were supportive, patient, and genuinely invested in their staff. The team as a whole made the workplace feel comfortable and positive.

The hardest part of the job was that the company was affected by a slow economy. I had originally started as a receptionist with plans to move up, but the workload slowed down and there were some interpersonal challenges within the family dynamic, which made it difficult for me to stay long term. Ultimately I was laid off due to the slowdown, and I also had personal circumstances going on at the time.

I truly wish the job could have worked out because the leadership and the overall environment were amazing

Overall great company to work for, with weekly pay and overtime everyday, with optional Saturday work. Staff and management are all very friendly and approachable. there is room for advancement, if you show initiative. very relaxed work environment, with occasional busy times as project deadlines near or change. morale is high and the company would offer weekly bbq's during the summer.

many years of service with no appreciation. Pay was below bottom of industry average for wages. average of 20 to 30% less than industry Norm. Management brags about there homes and trips while the employee suffer and scrap by. No movement unless you have the same last name as the rest of the family

When i was apprentice,  this company was good but a llittle bit under pressure, good for learning. The foreman was bad attitude, co worker was cooperate and work together

loved working there,great people and great management awesome safety rewards , great for advancement clean work environment fantastic hours

Fun and Productive workplace. Management treated me very fairly. Excellent workplace culture. The most enjoyable part of the job was the people I worked with.

During my stay at rig shop i enjoyed so much and i like the way my supervisor treat me because he recognized my daily in put and he knows how i do my job profficiently

Great place to work . Only reason i left was the downturn in the oil industry reduced my hours to 4 days a week. Great management and co-workers make this a great place to work.

I enjoy working in this workshop. It was nice to work with people, all employees shop #5 are professionals. work has been to make an accurate assembly and weld each section to get the structure (Rig)
