A typical day begins at 7;30 am with the line up of all customer service staff/ front desk, doormen, bellmen and the valet to discuss the main events of the day, wows, mistakes and opportunities of the previous one.
I've learned that effective communication is a necessary tool to a successful business. Also the ability to utilize staff and available resources to achieve organizational goal, (Customer satisfaction).
 
The management is a team of dynamic, focused and goal oriented professionals that are committed to meeting set targets. 

 My co-workers are one of the most amazing set of people anyone will wish to work with. A diverse setting with individuals of different social, racial and cultural back grounds. Working together in harmony towards a common purpose. Sharing information, ideas and interacting socially with common understanding.

The most difficult part of the job is when a wedding or other related events are taking place at the hotel. You have a situation where a lot of cars arrive at once and everyone needs your attention at the same time. Over time, I've learned to remain calm and have fun while the rush lasts instead of getting frustrated. Frustration only distort your reasoning and slows you down.

The most enjoyable part of the job is you get to meet very interesting people everyday. Tons of celebrities. Though some guests are unreasonably unrealistic and unfriendly, you don't let that get you down, it is a normal characteristic of  customer service in every industry.

I have worked in a few five star properties within my career from the middle east to London and i have to say that the management at the Spa My Blend by Clarins at the Ritz Carlton is by far the most unprofessional and uncoordinated group I have encountered.

All in all the management causes unrest within the whole department, but nothing can be brought to the attention of senior management through fear of schedule retaliation

The Supervisors and team are great at working together as so is the rest of the Hotel
I was sad to leave them, however estate to say goodbye to the management

Before service began conducted line ups by management to review the guests in house, reservations and discuss the companies credo and steps of service. Followed by a high level of personal refined service for each of our guests. Finished with a learning lesson on wine, cheese, food, or service.
I gained through knowledge in wines and all around the hospitality industry standards of customer service. 
Management was continuously working with each employee to help them grow and learn about customer service and would promote each individuals personal strengths to give each guest a personal and exceptional experience. 
Time managing when you have a full section with extremely demanding guests was always a challenge but rewarding when successfully executed.
Creating guests for life was the most enjoyable part of work.

It was great experience I worked with amazing team the coworkers are very kind and the environment labor is good I could learned a lot things over there, thanks Ritz Carlton for that great opportunity.

It was great experience working there the kitchen coworkers teach you different kitchen skills and they are so kind and friendly the environment labor is amazing, only I have to say thanks Ritz Carlton for this great experience there.

Environment work is great people always is very kind and they help you if you don't know how do anything.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
People always is en focus in their tasks and they try to give the best for the guests every day.

To be part of The Ritz-Carlton company was whole new level. I got to learn about about how to respect with your colleagues and as well as the guest. The work environment gave me a exposure to learn about being a good leader , team player and respect with external and internal guests. Ever since I joined the company my vision have totally changed it gave me new direction to achieve my goal through being part of the company. I have worked with one of the best and experienced chef in the company and throughout my experience I made really good mentors who now I admire and achieve the same level in my career.

This was my first step in a hotel job opportunity, to me it was a new world, i was enjoying every minutes of my work. When i first started i really felt like it was a family ambiance, because there was a lot of people being there for most than 10 and even 20 years, i was proud of them and that made me want to stay for a while. Employees and customers were great, i never had or  at least almost never had complications or bad reviews from customers. I just wished i could have more doors open in that place and get more experiences from others department.

The same thing as usual, clean guest rooms and get it up to standard.     
How to comunicate with guests and each other on board the Ship  

Management was not too good and helpful.      

You find deferent culture from all nation, and sometimes good but well you have to adapt yourself to it.    

Embarkation day, have to get up from before six to get everything ready so as soon the guest leave you start to get those rooms ready for the other guests, and all rooms had to be ready for 11:30        

When you finish and you go to your Cabin and Rest.

Great employee package upon hire, amazing uniform and management,  poor motivation when asked for assistance  on the job  lack of support when asked for time off. Human resources can be in limited support on how being spoken to by management regarding job responsibilities and taking breaks. Management too strict on flexibility.  As a female, the security staff would chat up and become too personal on the job. Be aware. Overall,  marriot is a good company but this location needs new staff and managers to live up to the ritz brand 




Regarding this previous position, my tasks were various and required high pro activity, a complete understanding of the external and internal environment and a sense of relationship. My duties have included monitoring and managing schedules for the team, assigning duties to housekeepers, providing daily monitoring the display of products, maintaining the monthly budgets and monthly reports and ensuring the high standards of the Hotel (in term of cleanliness). I also assisted the Executive Director and the General housekeepers in order to optimize the efficiency of our team.

A lot is expected from the employee’s when it comes hitting certain standards and the audits seem to be never ending. Upper management is constantly pushing everyone to do their best which can be motivational for some, but discouraging for others. The reward is working for a very large company that allows for different avenues for advancement all around the world. The people the company attracts are easily the best in the industry and a lot of fun can be had behind the scenes.
