Senior management right down to the production managers all care greatly about their workers and their safety. The company strives to receive input and conducts annual anonymous surveys from every single worker in the company. They then take the input and create projects and focuses to improve company attitude and deficiencies. Everyone right up to the President is concerned with company safety and they regularly reinforce that belief through quarterly town hall meetings where every worker is allowed to view during work hours (and still get paid). The town hall meetings review the current situation and direction for all divisions across Scoular; and is a great way for everyone to understand where they fit in with the company, and how their contributions make a difference. Excellent company to work for! Their benefits and bonuses are excellent for all levels from management right to the general workers - yes, bonuses for the workers too!

Work that was given was not doable with the accuracy requested within an 8 hour day.   Many evenings and weekends spent working at home.  Error were not tolerated at all and were constantly questioned.   Very little support from management for learning portions of the  position.  

They began their presence in Canada with 9 facilities and in 9 years have 2 left standing ?They value honesty and openess BUT only when it makes them look or feel good. 
Most depts that are on the ground floor have had the workers with wisdom and knowledge eliminated . 
Of the 40 or so employees in Canada only 2 are trustworthy.  That speaks volumes about the culture of the company . 

I came into the company shortly after it was acquired by Scoular.  There was, and still is, a lot of change happening as they try to figure out the corporate set up and IT systems of the company.  There are some very good people at the company but it was in a constant state of flux during my time at the company.

I did enjoy the flexibility it allowed with when I was putting in my hours.

Pretty limited for career advancement.  Very compartmentalized in that even if you have ideas that can generate profits/revenues they will not allow you to take advantage of those opportunities. Limited opportunity unless you get in with a "loc" that is making money. Steer clear of any developing "locs"

As a whole, working here was a blast, everyday there is something to be done, either a massive bagging order or weekly plant shutdowns for cleaning and product change over, just an awesome place to work, super friendly staff and management, and forever changing day to day duties.

It was a good experience being able to work at Scoular for a whole year. I was trained on the spot and was able to ask questions freely when I was unable to understand certain tasks. My manager was very easy going and was very good at his job. My overall experience was excellent at Scoular.

Poor workplace saftey culture, harasment issues not taken seriously. Poor local management.  Overall it was good work but not someplace I recommend long term.

Good place to work but limited opportunities to advance. the company where I work is a good place in the city but I want to in a more advanced role with respect to my education

A great place to work at though the environment is competitive. Environment is open discussions takes place person to person by skype, through computer chatting.
