The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation

I enjoyed my career at the Seaway.  I worked my way up through the ranks & eventually was a Supervisor responsible for the management of all Corporate records.  It  was sometimes a challenge to get everyone working towards a common goal of preserving Corporate records & assigning retention & disposal to all records but the Seaway has made great strides in the last four years with implementing an Enterprise Content Management system that will incorporate many of the Seaway's needs in the future.  I worked with a great team in IT & would recommend the Seaway to anyone looking for work.

did cad design, worked on winter works projects.
learned a lot about the workings of the canal, and the importance of keeping the running and ships passing trough.
management was great, worked closely with staff to ensure projects were finished on time.  
workplace was good, everyone was there to complete projects and worked together , so that  was done on time great people to work with.


Great opoortunities and work environment. Good pay and working hours, flexible management and care and respectful culture. Bilingual is a plus to be exposwd to such rich experiences in the belle provence. Lota to learn and share with great peers to help

Wasted my time there. Management is ignorant, and unyielding. A company run by engineers, for engineers. Everyone else is only there so  they don't have to get their hands dirty. Their mission is to eliminate as many workers as possible. The pay is only worth it if you can numb yourself to the monotony.

review canal-wide equipment breakdowns, status, issues and device plan to correct. learned extensive knowledge in the day-to-day operations of vessel operations and importance of ensuring equipment is fully functional to meet operations' requirements.

Slow paced work environment with many challenges. Great place to learn a variety of complexe agreements within lease administration. The job requiers coving a large territory within urban settings to farm land to massive engineered structures.

Great job. Absolutely horrible management. They do everything possible to reduce operational staff, while they bolster their HR department. Great short term job.

I enjoyed working here along with many people I worked with in the past. Took safety serious and appreciated hard work . Learned how the Canal system worked

Many challenges and lots of outdoor projects.  This company has an excellent safety program.  Management however tends to be stuck in the 1950s.  Overall a good place for engineers.

The management will fire you even though there is a union. Not a fun place to work.  12 hrs shift work. The pay is good and the pension. Benefits are ok.
