There is a lot of politics and nepotism, you can only go as far as the strength of your relationship with senior management and even then, you can never really tell where you stand. Also, a lot of whispering and gossiping. They don't follow through on promises made at the beginning of the job. They give the impression that you should professionally do your job, but what they really want is for you to do what they want, only problem is no one will directly tell you what that is because it tends to contradict their official statements. No HR department, so its hard to understand the system or get fully integrated. They will give you access and information in bits. I repeatedly asked for feedback on performance but was not given any, except oral reassurances that I was doing well and exactly what they wanted, until they terminated my employment. 
I never got a handle of the politics and power dynamics and I generally think its exhausting to work somewhere that you only advance by sucking up to the bosses. People are nice to your face but its hard to tell if they are genuine

The world load remains continuously the same on a day to day basis; although the management has retained its relaxing and productive environment with very friendly peers to work with. I learned a lot of accounts payables and what duties I have as an account payable clerk along with keeping close relations with various of companies that State Group was affiliated with. The most enjoyable part of my job was being able to enjoy my job by my own means and own way, while being able to do my daily duties. The freedom of listening to music was also a plus.
The hardest part of the job on the other hand was travelling 2 hours to get to the job branch.

I am so grateful that I have been provided the opportunity to work with such a knowledgeable and pleasant group of individuals here at State over the last 4 years. It is with the utmost sincerity that I can say the State Group has been undoubtedly the best employer of my career. The management has always treated me with the highest respect and provided me with the required tools to be successful. Above all I appreciate the team atmosphere and the determination to get the job done in a manner that is functional, effective, efficient and rewarding.

My employment with STATE Group INC. was one of great experience. My knowledge and skills about health and safety were first introduced and developed while working for state. The management team was impeccable. They were always opened to explain procedures and showing me and my co-workers the correct processes. The hardest part of the job was trying to balance my life while working 60 hours weekly. I enjoyed learning and growing as a person as well as gaining knowledge that will always be with me.

This was a great company to work with although has gone through some growing pains.  As an electrical company it is sometimes feast or famine. There were many times where I had to lay off men because of jobs that had ended. They then went through management change in Calgary and out of 10 of us in the office it went down to three people including myself. With new management came new challenges.  I was there for them all, until the last one where we went from 10 down to two in the office.

Management was awesome.  They always had your back.

Deadlines. However part of the job

Very good. 
Team work was awesome. Management was fair.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy. Never dull. We had support from management if any issues. 
It was a relaxing work place.  A lot of deadlines but all in all very good

Stress free environment. Treat everyone like a family

Nothing I can think about because it is a stress free

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Everyday is a typical day because it’s nice to go to the office and you know the people are friendly

Apparently big in ontario - they keep their alberta venture afloat from there 
Horrible organization, they provide no support - expect unrealistic things from their employees and compensation very poorly. They hire bad personnel for managenent positions which translates to an air of constant cynicism on the job, very much a culture of throwing people under the bus.

I Have been employed with TSG for over 15 years. They promote learning through mentoring and are always looking for individual’s advancement whether it be in the trades or in an administrative role. 
They have a depth that parallels some of the largest construction companys in the industry.

Weekly payroll for 60 employees.
20-30 AP invoices/day.
15-25 Purchase orders issued and entered/day.
15-25 AR invoices/week.
Monthly maintenance reporting (100+ page reports) for Telus' major communication centres across Canada.
Process thermographic images of sites to be presented to customer.

Busy and diverse place to work. Very happy with this job.
