I was hired by Tandet for an entry level shop helper position, promoted to an apprentice and left as a licenced technician. If you want to advance in the company there is definitely potential to do so. I learned a lot at Tandet and worked with some very skilled technicians. With that said, Tandet has some major management issues and promotes some of the wrong people... Management constantly promised things and then under or didn't deliver at all. Concerns and suggestions from technicians were frequently disregarded and there was constant confusion and disorganization in the shop. The turnover rate was also unbelievable. In the four and a half years I worked in the Mississauaga shop I worked with easily twenty different technicians and had three different supervisiors. With good management and some shop upgrades Tandet would be a very good place for a technician to work.

In a typical day you would be insulted by an fellow wash bay employing. I learned to wash trailers. Wash bay manager was a pain never planning the day in a way that was easily manageable for new employees to be trained properly. Most of the employees are nice but some are complete morons and have no respect for anyone or anything you do. Hardest part is finding the drive to get up and find the drive to be there and finding out you have a deadline for certain trailers. The most enjoyable part was meeting some of the customers that came through and talking to them.

This is a terrible place and a terrible work culture. Management doesn't have a clue of what they are doing or how to run a company. They are scammers and con artist. They routinely over promise and constantly under deliver. They create a poor work culture that involves disrespect, and if it comes from a driver, you will never win. Becareful, there is no job security and you can be fired for bringing up legitimate workplace concerns and they will claim restructuring ( Wrongful dismissal), they will find a way to excuse you rather than address the issues that are cause for concern. 

Stressful place to work, saftey and dispatch contradict each other and you are always in the wrong… very stressful place to work and too much micro managing, Hybrid and Baby-Bulk are expected to bounce back and forth due to employee retention issues just to get loads out, you'll get 14 hours one day then get 6 the next day causing stress and fatigue so you don't end up making a decent pay cheque most of the time, keep looking as there are better places to work.

management needs to improve. benefits suck, and they just bumped the pay up to a decent wage. no boot allowance, no tool allowance. had to beg managment to provide mechanics with shop gloves. workplace is a regular fleet shop. good group of mechanics working there. no hard jobs. grease jobs, brakes, trailer work. slow and don't learn much for apprentices. but easy work for a mechanic

At Tandet I worked in the truck service side. It is a fast based work place. The  days were  stressful and long.Getting the trucks fixed and back on the road was always a priority.  I was the only female in the shop but the mechanics were very nice and helpful. The owners were present on site most days and active in their business. I learn a lot working there and met many very nice people.

I've been at Tandet Dedicated for about 5 months and it is the best place I have ever worked. Love the fast paced work and the work culture is top notch.  The most enjoyable part of my job at Tandet is the people i get to see and meet each day and the places I get to travel too. 

I've been at Tandet for about 1.5 years and it's still the best place i've ever worked at. Great work culture and great crews in Burlington and Oakville, always working together and helping eachother to get the job done.

Through this company I learned the Skills required in an Emergency Breakdown Situation. The job itself required a tremendous amount of multitasking to organize and arrange repairs for Tractors and Trailers.

Great management , long hours , equipment could be better for company driver.  Per hourly rate. Overtime after 60 hours.  Customer service based position.  Cross border work to and from USA.
