What is the best part of working at the company?
Get to be outside for most of the day all year round which I love being out in the first year makes a big difference

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It depends all on your position. As a crossing guard the most stressful part is cars going through stop signs can be very dangerous for yourself and also the children. Also some children make it stressful with really bad attitudes and swearing

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Depends which department and job title but I love the culture of my department

The Town of Whitby Summer Camp was a great experience, it was a fun and welcoming work environment. Getting to work every morning was a great time, knowing that I get to make a difference in someone's childhood. Although I was pretty much attacked by the kids every time I walked through the door, it didn't bother me that much because they did it to show they were excited to see me. One of the only downsides is that working with energetic kids all day can be draining.

I would typically work an 8 hour shift. General help throughout the arena, including customer service.

I learned how an arena functioned from the inside. I was able to be apart of maintenance procedures for the ice surface, the Zambonis, and the Olympic size swimming pool.

Both Management and staff were striving to provide an enjoyable environment for all patrons.

I found the most enjoyable part of my day interacting with the public. Assisting with any issues they may have and customer satisfaction.

The town pays all Youth Leaders the same amount, whether they teach preschool (fast-paced, high stress) or run a youth room (lay around playing video games). 
Also, unfair opportunities for good hours/schedules/locations. New employees are able to walk right into the shifts with more hours, better schedules and better locations - while current employees are left with the unwanted hours/schedules/locations.

Responsible for providing customer service via telephone and on-line, including dealing effectively with customer complaints and inquiries, explanation of programs, services, policies and procedures regarding health club, fitness, aquatics services and other facilities and/or programs for the Town of Whitby; handling revenue for admissions and program registrations and reconciling daily receipts and deposits; providing clerical support.

I work with some very good people. They had a lot of care for their work. The treatment of animal was very important to all of us. The hard part of the job was putting animals to sleep. The good part was to find an animal a home. Very rewarding. Management was very supportive.Taking people to court was somewhat stressful .A real learning experience

work is always learning something new meting new residents listening to their complaints and trying to help with a solution best possible.

hardest part of the job is the unknown and making sure you deal with very upset residents

Mostly hire party time workers so they don’t have to pay full time benefits. They’d would rather have 13 part timers working than paying for full timers. Can’t pick schedule, shift are 3.5-5 hr and shifts  vary day to day

As an instructor i was working and teaching local youth between the ages of 4 and 12. I coached, created programs and supervised children in the sports of Floor Hockey, Soccer, Badminton, and Basketball. This provided opportunities for me to learn about different ways of thinking, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.

I enjoy working at the arena. Driving the Zamboni is a very cool experience and I work with an array of friendly people. I've learned that being a supervisor can sometimes be a bit tricky, but the experience is invaluable. The best part of the job is when people approach me to compliment my flood or my building.
