Every shift we would help customers find what they were looking for (wine , beer ect) We learned so much about our product, almost everyday we had lessons on pouring beer/wine , where they came from and what classy drinks you can make with them. Management was terrible, they talked to you like you were stupid and had no idea what you were doing, definetly lack of leader ship and communication. The co workers were always awesome, everyone always got along and we became a team when management wasnt doing what they were supposed to. Dealing with difficult customers and management was the hardest part of the job. The enjoyable part of the job was learning about your product and realzing your right about a product when helping a customer.

My experience with this company started off pleasant. As I was there longer I noticed that management was being stretched across multiple stores, resulting in a lack of supervision, organization, and communication, leaving staff to compensate on their behalf without sufficient instruction or training. They often hire "friends" and treat other staff poorly. Their staff is unhappy and they refuse to make change just more excuses as to why things are the way they are. They micromanage  their staff when they are not gossiping about others stores and staff. Quite a negative and toxic work environment.

Management often makes employees feel replaceable and undervalued. Raises and advancement are discussed but rarely honored, and expectations shift without clear communication. Feedback is inconsistent and sometimes delivered in ways that feel dismissive rather than constructive. Scheduling is inconsistent with little regard for work and life balance, and management rarely advocates for staff to corporate. There is noticeable favoritism, and employees who go above and beyond are relied on without proper recognition. Overall, the environment lacks transparency, support, and genuine opportunities for growth.

Flight Cannabis has been an eye opening experience into how retail drive can eat away at the delicate engagement that comes with educating customers of the proper uses and many benefits of Cannabis, CBD and more.  The environment is cold and sterile and the displays rarely change.  If you are passionate about the importance of Cannabis Growers in BC meeting the needs of the BC market you are in the wrong place.   In fact if you are passionate at all you might find yourself being held back.  Great overall job if you are looking to chill with some pretty rad staff, without any real care for the future of Cannabis in BC.

I've worked at flight for over a year now and its been an amazing place to work.  Management genuinely cares about their employees and they go above and beyond to ensure you have what you need.  Whether its a day off for mental health or an event you last minute want to attend.  They can't always make it happen but they try their best.  Everyone who works here works together as a team like a little mini family.  Ladysmith is a smaller store but a very close knit group of employees.

Easy work. But management bullied one individual at a time until they leave. Will cut hours if the manager does not like you. Advertise benefits and programs, but will be unable to find the "paperwork" when asked. Loopholes.

It started as a part time job not expecting a long term future.
After only months it became my main job being happy to go to work day after day.
After about 1 year it became my full time job with high hopes in a great and fun career.
Always something to learn and absorb.
Lucky to have a great manager/staff.

You're working at a liquor store so the drunk idiots are a guaranteed. In saying that it kept things interesting. Loved the people i worked with and got to know  a lot of regular customers. Only bad thing was the manager. Unorganized and takes people for granted.

Work was easy, coworkers were decent. The pay wasn't great and they were reluctant to provide raises/advancements. Management was frustrating, in one instance I was told one thing and then management ridiculed me for acting on the scenario.

This location was hard because of the neighbourhood and lots of loitering. Management is understanding and will work around your concerns. The pay wasn’t great, and bi monthly payments was hard instead of every 2 weeks.
