If I could rate this company a 0 star I would. Management has no idea what they are doing and are extremely backstabbing. There’s no job security what so ever and I’ve found it’s usually the good workers who get let go without cause and the bad ones stay. This company likes to pick and choose their favorites for workers. You get free meals but more than half the time the meals aren’t good and are burnt. I’d rather eat at Dairy Queen across the street rather than suffer from eating what looks to be like prison food. Management is fake. You’ll be hired for a permanent line and they will move you without saying anything. Save the hassle and stay away from this company because they undervalue the worth of its employees. The management on site has never been in charge of a care home, only hotels. They have no idea how to run a care home. Beautiful on the outside but on the inside it’s pure chaos. They are only for profit and only care about making money. If residents don’t like the food that is cooked staff is not allowed to cook anything else and managements response was that “we aren’t a restaurant”. Also be prepared to work alone lots. When questioned about how you’re going to take meal breaks, give residents their showers etc, you’ll get a phone call from management ripping your head off when you’re concerned about the safety for the residents and your well being. This is your license on the line, not theirs. One mess up and you’re out. Not a stable company and they have been reported to castanet about the shady things they do to their employees. 

I will start by saying the facility is all about making money. BIG MONEY! They charge some residents more that $10000/month and they receive no better care than Interior Health clients who have not established the same financial status in life.

The Vineyard’s Residence, does not have the correct amount of equipment/supplies to be able to consistently put the best interests of their employees or residents first. This is a fact. 

If you speak to authority figures at the Vineyard’s they will listen, but they do not follow through with any definitive change.  They charge a lot of money for the seniors to live there and they do not invest the money back into the living circumstances of the people who reside there. 

Once you are employed you will find out the management does not know or care about what’s going on with the seniors. 

It takes an eternity for any email to be responded to. Whether or not you are a worker for the Vineyard’s or have a family member living there. 

They do not  train staff properly, one day training is offered for most staff, if you are  lucky you get two days. The turnover of staff is quick and so it should be. They literally hire any staff, really anyone who puts their application in: They do not check references at all. 

This is the worst place I have ever worked, next to Burger King, actually Burger King treated their staff better. 





Avoid this workplace at all costs! It is a beautiful, new building, but the rest of the place is a mess. Toxic work environment. Not enough training provided.  Such a high turnover rate that there's often new employees (of less than a week) training new hires. Management is grossly undereducated. The communication there is terrible. And there's no confidentiality between management and staff.  If you speak to someone of authority about personal matters, the majority of the time it gets back to other employees! I'm aware of this happening to numerous co-workers and has also happened to me. Shifts are given out based on scheduling's 'favorites', not by seniority. I know of numerous employees who were amazing workers and were let go without cause or explanation, yet there's other employees who are still there but definitely should have been fired months ago. I know of employees who have been taken from their position and switched to casual just days before their benefits were to begin. Terrible place to work! I could go on and on but I don't have all day lol. Also, I wasn't fired, so this isn't a review from a disgruntled employee, it's just my honest review :)

I’ve been working at The Vineyards for over a year now and have gotten to observe and be apart of a substantial amount of positive adjustments and growth throughout this time. Working at The Vineyards, you can expect to be apart of a team based practise and a positive environment. The Vineyards is a newer facility which can be looked at in a negative way as most businesses go through their largest learning curves during this period, however, The Vineyards has taken this as an opportunity to encourage their staff to make suggestions and take part in building the foundation of this work environment. This in part, promotes a stable and staff aware environment. Here at The Vineyards you will be heard, supported, and can expect to receive results from your feedback. The upper management and ownership is hands on and eager to make the workplace a balance of business and pristine health care through advocation of both their staff and the residents. 
As a staff member at The Vineyards you will get to enjoy a free high quality meal, staffing social events, and collaborative monthly meetings with your co-workers.

I was excited to start working here until I realized that management is clueless. The place is super disorganized. There is only one scheduler for the entire work place. This leads to tons of scheduling issues and confusion. Frequently they don’t have the essential supplies that are needed to give the best care to the fabulous residents. The Director of Care is under educated for the position she is in and does not support the amazing staff that is actually holding the place up.  There is just so many bad things about working here that I feel sorry for the staff that remain. Also, I feel terrible for the families of the residents as they pay entirely way to much and deserve better. They are obviously in a vulnerable situation with family members being sick and Vineyards takes them to the bank.  Then promises them the world and can’t deliver. If you like to feel unsupported and under appreciated apply here. 

TVR is possibly the most expensive facility in Kelowna, however all that money does not go back to the residents. 
Most days, the residents are given cheap wonderbread ____ salad sandwiches, and the cheapest meals Cisco can provide. 
The residents personal care is done with reusable cloths (meaning they get their privates cleaned with reusable cloths)
The building itself is falling apart, however their misogynistic handyman won’t actually fix anything. 
Then, there is the disrespect from management. They actually don’t care at all about maintaining staffing, and will happily knock someone to casual so they don’t have to pay severance. In my experience there, I only met the HR person one time. 

Awful facility starting with management.
No organization, high staff turn over, and lack of communication. 
I’ve never worked in a facility that cares so little about their staff and residents. 
Residents  left in soiled pads for hours and all night long, matted hair, no repositioning/turning  etc. straight up neglect that managers refuse to deal with cause. Hopefully they’re lack of care and negligence is reported. 
Facility is beautiful but the people who run it are a complete joke and extremely under educated for their positions. Would never have a family member or loved one live here. 

One shift I worked there was a palliative resident actively passing who’s family did not even know or had been contacted. 
Truly disappointing and disgusting. 
 


Even though facility is beautiful I would steer clear from this place. 
Management is SEVERLY under educated and does not provide any support to staff. 

Scheduling is so unorganized it is a joke. 
This place will hire anyone that walks in the door. No background checks, and they do not even check to make sure your license is still in good standing...
Unprofessional management that only cares about money and not their staff or residents. 

No staff morale, always understaffed (for obvious reasons) and a complete gongshow. 
High staff turn over once people realize how clueless managers are...which doesn't take long. 

The Vineyards Residence is not a place I would ever recommend working. 

Upon  hiring the orientation days were uninformative,  and  felt you were hired to fill a spot quickly.   There is a high turnover rate , and most staff were  young being there less than 6 months.  
The job was challenging and I enjoyed assisting the residents  with most staff, but the Lead nurse was unapproachable and lacked social skills making for a tense work day  and felt  you had NO support . If you had a idea for better productivity you were made to feel  unappreciated.  The  negative and abrupt tone was consistent from certain Lead hands making for a toxic environment.   Sad to see when the residents deserve a happy environment- 

I loved working here however the management needs to get more organized and communicate better with the staff and follow through. Complaints or concerns fall on deaf ears and the job expectation is a bit ridiculous for the amount of money that is paid. The staff are amazing I loved them they go the extra mile for their seniors! 
  I had a health issue and was dismissed without cause the next day with nothing but excuses but I know why I got let go. To bad I really enjoyed my time there and the people that work their were the reason I stayed to begin with not the management.
