A typical day at work involved me greeting customers, seating them, and checking up on them every now and then to see how they were doing. I would also take orders and serve or package them for takeout. At the end of the day I would complete my cleaning tasks which included vacuuming, sweeping, polishing silverware, and cleaning the bathrooms, as well as making sure the host stands and takeout areas were fully stocked. 
I absolutely loved working here and learned so much about myself and the culture of a customer service job. My conflict resolution skills improved and I also learned what being a part of a supportive work environment is like. The people I met are family to me and I am lucky to have had such amazing coworkers. 
The workplace culture was lighthearted and fun but was also focused on success and goals were expected to be met. We all had a great time while doing great work. 
The hardest part of the job was having to deal with frustrated customers who had to be put on a waiting list when the restaurant was full. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting people and helping them have the best experience possible. That and making friends with my coworkers.

Working at The Works has been a great experience. As a Kitchen Manager, I’ve learned how to lead a strong, motivated team while keeping a fun and positive work environment. Every day brings something new, and the team’s energy makes even the busiest shifts enjoyable. The company focuses on quality food and great service, and it feels good to be part of a brand that really cares about both customers and staff. I’ve gained valuable experience in inventory control, scheduling, training new staff, and managing daily operations. The management team is supportive, and communication between the front and back of house is excellent. The fast-paced atmosphere keeps you sharp and teaches you how to multitask effectively. Overall, The Works is a great place for anyone who enjoys teamwork, great food, and personal growth in the restaurant industry.


Having worked with such a wonderful product in terms of freshness, and care taken in order to make every item on the menu, I could not help to think that the management of the company was lacking in many ways.. The maturity level in the (heart of house) was very low as there were a large number of inexperienced, part-time students hired to do a job that requires a solid knowledge of how a line kitchen functions. 

The food is great but without capabilities and real knowledge of how to build and maintain a solid team to keep it at its highest quality, it will just end up as another unfortunate commercial building for lease.

I was accommodated extremely well. Moved out west for 3 months and was taken back the moment I returned home. Hours were very flexible and I mostly always got the shifts I asked for which is very hard to find nowadays. Management is very friendly and easy to get along with, as well as fellow co-workers. I learned hard work always goes a long way. Hardest part of the job was the fast-pace environment but fellow co-workers always made it easier (keeping each other in a good mood, always joking around with each other). Always received a free meal per shift which helped a lot with not having to bring food (plus the food there is delicious).

I mostly work at night when it is busier. I greet the customers at the door and take them to their seats where i ask if they have been to the works before and explain the specials we have on at the time. When it gets busy I have to start a wait list which i would say is the hardest part of my job. However customers are usually understanding and willing to wait. I love my co-workers, everyone is friendly and good with communication. They are my favorite part of my job along with talking to the customers.

I would first place all inventory in the fridge, in there rightful place and order. I would than prep for the daliy food items, such as caramelized onions, and baked bacon. I would press over 200 beef patties. I would   make different sauces and prepare other such items that are on the menu. The management are young and energetic and are involved in there day to day business. The hardest part is pressing patties for sometimes 4 hours. The most enjoyable part are the friendly co -workers.

Working for the works was a great opppurunity I got to Learn many new skills and they gave me oppertunities to learn more when i asked. the co-workers were great. they had a great team and everything normally ran smoothly. the hardest part of the job was having to learn everything at a very fast pace. Managment was great for the most part.

i would have to say the most enjoyable part of the job was being able to work with great staff and learning new strengths.

Overall was a fun place to work, the co-workers were always smiling and supportive. The atmosphere was very fun and laid back. It was a very unique store to work at. Hardest part of the job was learning all of the burger toppings, but it was worth it because of the clientele it brought in. Always great customers. I particularly enjoyed the music there, as it was classic rock as oppose to top 40 that plays in majority of restaurants.

Management is a pain ITA to deal with, lifeguards are forced to join a union that takes 2% of an abysmal 12.41/hour rate, hours are inflexible and shifts are often set with no intention of giving workers mandatory breaks or rotations. Staff, supervisors, union reps etc will all gossip about personal health issues and other personal details that should never be shared

Reference is a must to get this job. Also, if you have previous experience with any other company where you worked some sort of similar stuffs that will help to get you this job. Without relevant experience it's hard to say that you will get the job
