Typical day at work  is extremely chaotic. There will be numerous interruptions to complete 'last minute' or 'rush' tasks.

Many individuals requesting this rush work, have not completed the background work, nor do they understand the technical and regulatory requirements of the tasks they are attempting to complete.

Scheduling of any type (manufacturing, shipping, QC testing etc) is done on a last minute basis.

All departments and individuals within departments work in 'silos' - no cooperation within a team or between departments (again cus everyone is rushed to complete last minute task)

Short timelines to complete tasks results in negative impact to product quality (or SISPQ), in order to manufacture more product faster. However this sacrifice in quality results in an enormous amount of OOS/deviations.

There is no work-life balance. 

There is an expectation to stay late, work weekends (much of the time with no reimbursement) due to the 'rushes' (described earlier) and or to fix the deviations to a product or process that were a result of the carelessness of employees. 

Training program is sub-par, for employees (leading to deviations during manufacture, as stated above).
 
Management is aware of all the issues - but focus is again, on manufacturing as much as you can, as fast as you can.

These issues undoubtedly occur in any business, in any industry - keep in mind this is the pharmaceutical industry (one of the most heavily regulated industries - and for good reason), so taking shortcuts and sacrificing quality and safety of a product will put the end user (people) lives at risk. 

This company would be ideal for an individual who wants to quickly get exposure to sterile manufacturing and technical processes (chromatography, lyophilization, protein plasma fractionation etc); however after about a year it would be beneficial to move to a larger more organized/structured pharma company, that is established and is well versed in regulations and compliance to the regulations.

Only join Therapure if you are a fresh grad trying to step into the industry. If you are a seasoned veteran of the pharma industry, my advice is to join a bigger company. 

Pros:
You will quickly learn sterile manufacturing techniques and technicalities of downstream purification. This is mainly because the environment is so chaotic and everything is so last minute, you will be forced to execute many things in a short period of time. You will often be given many tasks to complete in a hurry because the company lacks proper planning. 

The compensation is fair. However, you will be expected to work a minimum of 8 hours proper, meaning a standard 9 hour work-day including lunch. So make sure you factor this into comparing salary from a company that only requires working 7 hours.  

Cons:
One word: Chaotic. This is the most disorganized and chaotic pharma company I have ever worked. Because of this, people make mistakes constantly, resulting in many deviations. Everyone is trying to fix things up all the time. 

The main objective for the operations management has always been pumping more products out in a shorter period of time. For this reason, managers don't really care about promoting a culture where everyone collaborates, cooperates and communicates. Instead, everyone works in silo and pull long hours (often called in on weekends to fix mistakes) - often as a result of mistakes made because of lack of communication and collaboration! 

Timelines put out to complete certain tasks, such as qualification studies, are so unrealistically short that they are ridiculous if put into well established pharma companies. I have seen so many ridiculously short and last minute deadlines for tasks that eventually got dragged into several months past due. It only testifies how much lack of planning there is and how much out of touch the management is with the reality of GMP processes.

1-During my time, a research scientist was poisoned with carbon monoxide due to faulty detector the company had them use and refused to come back until a promotion was given. 5 months later when I left, the faulty detectors were yet to be replaced.
2-Potentially carcinogenic substances that easily generate floating dusts were being weighed out on open bench, no appropriate respiratory protection provided. Matter of fact, personnel were buying their own N95 masks to protected themselves. When matter brought up to the immediate manager, it was downplayed with very lightly.
3- Floor manager hassled me to complete a job even though it required safety shoes and lab coat while I had neither.
5-Management gets angry if you work 8:30-5 but if you stay longer to finish a task, still bites your head off for not finishing on time, and/or asking for overtime approval beforehand!!! while their own management miscalculations are the main reason of the having the team work overtime!!
Bottom line: Lots of formality and zero achievement makes Therapure a true case of a paper tiger, a tempest in a tea cup.
If have options, avoid.

It is very difficult working within the company, if you are not from same cultures of the management. Does not matter how hard you work or dedicated you are. 
Wasting time and dignity. Management lacks professionalism. From HR to management, everyone seems to only support staff that are of the same cultural background. If you don’t identify with a certain group, then upward mobility in the company is next to impossible. 


Operations strategy adjusted daily as new demands transpired daily.
Manage direct reports, and provide leadership through the use of employee empowerment strategies.
Most difficult part of the job is trying to change the culture of customs compliance.
Enjoyed the opportunity to apply logistics and supply chain concepts and practices.

Great place to get the job experience and that’s all about it. Work environment is not great, since very few people are happy in their position.
Shift hours and shift rotation. Schedule not released until last minute, so very difficult to make personal plans on the weekend.
People are nice to work with.

•	Performed Full Cycle Accounts Payable. (SAP Accounts payable module)
•	Analyzed accounts to be capitalized on monthly basis
•	Prepared monthly accruals.
•	Prepared Financial drafts for management to review on monthly basis
•	Helped management in closing the financial year .

The team I worked in was a very nice team, people are all very professional and responsible. 
The scheduling of production is not that due to the nature of the company, rush is often. 
Overall, it is a nice place to work with.

Too many things to work with which have given me much experience in terms of prioritizing to meet business needs. The work place culture is very friendly, the hardest part of the job is not knowing before hand when priorities change. The mostly enjoyable part is the flexibility of the job
