Medical and retirement benefits and work life balance.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
ZERO job security. Management and senior executives waste time with massive amounts of mandatory courses, reviews and meetings that do not apply to your job (extra work load on top of your actual work load) Short staffed, mass amounts of lay offs bi-yearly. MOST of all the jobs have been or are in the process of being outsourced to China, India and the Philippines. The Senior Executives do not care about the employees, you're just an employee number. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
competitive and not diverse. HR is none existent, the few that are left do not care or advocate for the employee.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
None stop work and meetings, never enough time in the day.

Thomson Reuters was an amazing company to work for.   There were many challenges in the beginning, the learning process of their systems, from my previous job with Oracle. Elite Thomson Reuters acquired our division from Oracle were I was fortunate to remain in my position as Administrative Assistant. This acquisition allowed me to improve my skills through hands on training from our administrative and Facilities personnel in our head office. The training received from Admin and Facilities allowed me to take on more responsibilities.

The job with Elite Thomson Reuters was enjoyable, to be honest there was no hard part of it

They laid off people during the pandemic, even when the corporate profits went up.

No real career advancement opportunities.

Starting in 2020, Thomson Reuters hired a wave of new managers. Many of them have no qualifications to lead a team. Some of them are bullies. In general, the culture has changed for the worst, specially in IT / technology.  People are quitting all over the place, not because they are looking for a better organization, but because they need to get away from bad managers.

If you are a new employee trying to get a job at Thomson Reuters, I would suggest the following: don't let them interview you, but you interview the manager and ask for his/her references. Otherwise, you are going to join and then quit shortly after, like so many others.

The products TR Canada brings to market are second to none.  The challenge is penetrating the smaller businesses/clients due to the transactional nature of their businesses (their clients).  Products are, for the most part, built and priced to serve the largest entities, and market pricing/messaging for anyone else is inconsistent due to immense price sensitivity.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Strong brand,  unique product and decent work-life balance.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lacks people leadership and direction.  Leaders are very young, insecure  and only care about their brand.  Lots of hype around diversity and equality, but it’s all optics.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Political. You do good work and your boss takes all the recognition. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
No direction from above and therefore have to create my own. You hope and pray there is alignment.

Employee morale is low after seeing drastic layoffs last year to bolster the quarterly results. Workloads are increasing as staff is dwindling. As people work harder and longer, management plays games - that's right, they made us play "leader bingo". Staff are nervous and everyone is afraid to speak up. After cutbacks and layoffs they say they want the feedback from the workers but everyone knows you can't be honest. Must tell management that they are great!

Thomson Reuters is a company that is trying to redefine itself once again. When I was employed there, we always seemed to be re-organizing ourselves, which meant possible layoffs. The company had also bought a number of competitors as the industry for data and technology was amalgamating. This meant that the company had to place major efforts and resources into trying to make some major networks work together and cost the company in many ways.

What is the best part of working at the company?
They were a great company to work for. Unfortunately they closed the manufacturing division that I worked in. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Certain management. But just adjusted to make things work. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
This was all good I am a team player so got along with my co workers 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Was well structured. Production always the goal

Having full of synergy and collaboration, everyone has a defined sets of tasks in an agile style. You can transparently see what you have built up progresses and gets more mature. This respectful company has a set of defined missions and a perfect vision to ensure promising profit which is a reliable and safe side for all staff.

Work life balance, flex hours, amazing team, great management

none actually.   We worked hard and played hard
