I delivered for TC throughout my apprenticeship for electrical. It was always kind of decent for pay for specific areas.
However; work recently slowed down for me this year during my third year apprenticeship, and I decided to deliver again with them... which in my opinion was a horrible mistake.

Their pay scale is incredibly miniscule; you might break even on your gas most days and just put mileage on your car for no reason. I'm not sure when the shift happened to lower the payscale, or perhaps because of inflation, the money just isn't there anymore for delivering.

All in all; this isn't worth it unless it's a route that's strictly apartments or townhouses. Maybe you can make money still with close proximity housing? It really depends on how far you drive and how much time it takes to complete the route. This last route I took on I just ended up leaving it because the pay at the end of the day worked out to less than $5 an hour. What is that supposed to do for anything really nowadays? Not to mention, this route took me 2.5 hours to complete. I'm not a slow individual either; I work in the trades afterall. So even running for practically the entire route, coming home exhausted, I made about $12 for two and a half hours work. I hope that really puts things into perspective.

Just keep these things in mind if you're thinking of delivering for them. You'd have much better luck grabbing part time work elsewhere than working for the TC in my experience. It wasn't always this way though (hence the two stars) but times be changing, and this kind of work really isn't worth it anymore.
The newspaper industry itself is on the way out anyways; it's only the older generation that still subscribes, and once they're gone, so is the printed news. Everything will be digital in the near future.

My two cents on this job anyways.

A typical work day, for me, was calm and short. I only worked on Thursdays for about 2 hours. I learned to work hard and work productively. I am not really sure who manages my pay and things. I do not have any co-workers, I am only a delivery person, the job is very isolated. The hardest part of the job? Well, honestly, none of the job was hard but, if I had to pick something I would say the hardest part of the job was working in the different weather conditions. The most enjoyable part of the job, in my opinion was getting to know all the people I delivered to. Everyone was very nice and I loved hearing about their days.

Very repetitive, the people you deliver to can be very appreciate, and you can earn a lot during Christmas with just tips. 

Downside is that it is an early morning job (4am) and then expect you to be done no later than 6:30. Perfect for me before my full time job, however the pay is only 40 cent per paper, and no room for advancement. 

Supervisors take a ton of time off, and act as if it is a huge burden for them to cover a weekend every few months to get some time off.  

You also work 6days a week (Monday-Sunday) and pay is every 2 weeks (300 for 50 papers every two weeks is what I am averaging)

A typical day on the job brought something different with challenges that made the job very interesting all the time. 
Over the years I have had many opportunities to learn and grow with my job. The management has always been very cooperative and we worked well over the years. The hardest part of the job encountering new problems but most enjoyable once I was able to deal with the problems at hand a making it work.

Ok place to work until everyone was replaced with non union employees for a fraction of the wage and in another community.

Wage was good, hours were decent. Future of employment here looks bleak as they have gutted the newsroom and rely mainly on internet news feeds for their stories.

I had a great time doing this job and if i could do it again I would. The pay is pretty good. avg of $15 an hour for pretty much just walking and listening to music.

A typical day on Wednesday and Thursday is I would deliver the TC Extra outside. What I learned was it was easy and sometimes really hard for me. The management was ok sometimes. It was outside. The hardest part was getting my papers on my walker. The most fun part was being out with the mailman

I work three hours 6 days a week and take just over a grand each paycheck. Staff is friendly and extremely helpful. You won’t make minimum wage when you start however as learning the routs can take a lot of time. Victoria at 3am can also be really creepy sometimes 

It’s not bad working for the times. It can be annoying when I get to my pick up spot and the papers aren’t there. And then I find out they aren’t coming that day.

Super easy way to make some money, I do about 50 houses everyday except Monday and rake in about 200$ every 2 weeks. I have slept in a couple times now and the manager was very understanding!
