I really enjoyed my two weeks in camp. 95% of the crew were fun, competent, professional and laid back. Our work was expected to be done perfectly and we were given the tools to do that, just not in the scheduled shift since we were understaffed.we didn't even have a manager for two weeks. We were told to work overtime and they would get it approved by head office the next day. We worked 12-19 hours ever day for over two weeks and didn't even get enough money to cover a check without overtime. 

Then they fired almost all of us and cut off all communication with each one of us 

It's really sad because it was a great work experience and we were all told it was a long term contract. We looked forward to working with torch and eachother  

As long you meet the standard and deliver you are good to go. Had a great onboarding and understanding of the company’ s culture from the get go. The hardest part I would say is that you expect the staff to show up for deployment Otherwise you have to contact from among the pool, that is why it is of paramount importance to anticipate and have a back up plan. Management seems considerate and look after your well being. Starting Pay is competitive to what is going on out there. 

Hello all, I am currently working with this company. I was working at sand tiger camp. I was happy my frist rotation. But my second rotation my camp manager was starting to act like a real nag towards me. Yes it's a part of her job to inspection. But everyday come on. Everytime I did something wrong she would nag at me to fix it. So I would. This contuine everyday until this sat down beside me and started to pick a fight with me. I'm now on my way back to Edmonton cause I couldn't work with her anymore. I'm hoping to get switch to another camp. Stay away from sand tiger. The manger there is very rude

When I got layed off  they are not professional at all and they hire buddies

After hrs can't get ahold of any management get mad if you try to get ahold of

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very toxic ly to you all the time 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful  unorganized they can't organize nothing  monkeys can organize better

Expected to work up to 14hr shifts for the job required while they cap your work day at 9hrs. Only paid me $18/hr which is way lower than the industry standard for a chef. Co-workers/upper-management all quite rude. Zero notification about changing job responsibilities and zero job training. I'm used to injustices and long sometimes unpaid hours but this company is an all around unprofessional joke.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people and very professional. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When its busy , the rush its called but I work through it and I enjoy the fact pace and my coworkers do a great job.

Very fair . And the safety issue is too notch

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Prep for the dinner and or breakfast.

long days, hard work, but I truly loved my job with Torch Industries.  Most employees were easy to get along with, the management was awesome.  I think I deserved more money, but don't we all.  I have no complaints about my time with Torch.  The only reason I left was an off-site injury that prevented me from going back.

Work was regular duties 
Wasn’t informed prior to going into camp that is clientele got below a certain level your hours will be cut for that reason   Instead of using your lighting extra hours to do some deep cleaning on days when it wasn’t very busy. Fever clientele if you camp attendance more work less hour 

I've been at torch for many years,  and this company has progressed a great deal in that time.  They promote from within, they treat their long term employees better than any other company I've worked for.  The focus on H&S is remarkable.

This is the worst company to Ever work for.  Just forget the name.
They lie. Con. Manipulate & STEAL FROM YOU ON ALL LEVELS OF MANAGEMENT.

HONESTLY this company should be shut down just for how they treat stsff. But I guess losing 4 to 6 contacts at a time. It is only a matter of time.
