A typical day at work involves directing after-school programs for inner-city children and youth.

This position is extremely rewarding through the deep and lasting relationships that are built with both the kids and parents of the community.

The workplace culture here is filled with outreach workers who love their youth and have become an integral part of their respective communities.

obviously like with any ministry job you have to do it because it is your calling not because you want the benefits for yourself. therefore it is a very rewarding job when things are going well. however it can get very stressful. usually there is someone you can talk to and the workplace is very open but i wish the workers were paid more fairly for their work.

I loved my year long internship as a teaching assistant and cook for the role model moms program. This was the best job i ever had, because it allowed me to bring happiness and help form bonds of sisterhood through sharing a meal. Cooking is my biggest passion in life and i was able to expedience the planning, prepping and serving of meals for large crowds.

Toronto City Mission (TCM) has improved my social and interaction skills with others and responsibilities, it gave me an opportunity to get involved with something that i so special. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with the children and getting to know them and watching then grown into amazing people

I enjoyed working here loved the kids youth and moms.  The programs are good but poorly funded.  Going through many leadership changes,  team moral is low hope it improves but currently would not suggest.

i learned most of my communication skills for this volunteer experience and I also got my planning skills along with my patience skills for kids that don't listen and how to respond in different situation

Great co workers and overall experience was fantastic, met a-lot of great people, down to my colleagues and volunteers. As a childcare assistant watching the development on the children was an amazing experience.

Having volunteered here for most of my high school years, I can say the staff team are very welcoming and easily makes you feel at home with little pressure and the kids are really sweet

Loved my time working here, felt like I learned so much and gained a lot of experience. Would highly recommend this employer to anyone looking for a summer job and at the same time enjoying their job.

There was no job security even though you signed a contract. Great staff though. It's a non profit organization so when the government withdrew funding it had an effect on employees.
