When I started working here I was looking forward to it. As the months went by, I noticed they would start paying me and others late. The dean wanted me bring up students marks, when the students clearly did not perform at the level they should. I felt that was just unethical. The video on their website is very misleading, the video shows diversity and access to many equipment and programs. It is the total opposite. Very little equipment, especially the arts (music and art) Supplies were low and broken. They also didn't want to give a budget to the arts, and would collect money from students. I just feel this place is very misleading. The environment also felt uncomfortable, as many would talk in their language. As others mentioned, the paperwork is just unfair and doesn't make sense. They should give their teachers extra pay for the amount of hours that goes behind paperwork. I felt I spent more time in my office doing paperwork than teaching and I only worked for two hours. I feel they need to be honest and re-update their website. 

The turnover rate is astounding! Even for this industry. The care nothing for new teachers. Horrible management. Don't do it! Trust me! The boss mistreats every single one of the staff. There's a group of ESL teachers who were there before the Dean arrived, they are good to work with, but ultimately they are just trying to preserve their jobs and have little backbone when it comes to standing up to the Dean. In my time there I saw 0 opportunity for growth or "moving up" only "hanging on" if you want to spend a semester or two torturing yourself, go ahead. The boss will spend entire time collecting 'dirt' on you whether it be the time you were 1 minute late or because you wore jeans once.  All in an attempt to get rid of you ASAP and hire a new sucker. Don't be fooled! This place is toxic! Get out while you can!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Some good teachers here. Great variety of classes available to teach. Small classes.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No technology in the classroom. No projectors. No screens. No teacher software for attendance and marking. Marks are done in an excell spreadsheet. Teachers create their own Google classrooms. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Too much work is expected with too little tools. Students are not doing the work can not mean a fail. More and more chances are given to students until the very last day when marks are due. No company events for teachers and staff to socialize.

I worked as a Music Teacher at Toronto International College between Jan 2020 to March 2020 on a Contract.
Job was for two hours, but the paperwork made it for four hours everyday.
It was quite exhausting, I mean not the teaching but the unpaid extra hours of work.
Finally i asked them to give an acknowledgement of my work, which would help me in future jobs, to which they first agreed but when the contract expired, never gave me anything.
I tried emailing and texting on all their portals, but haven't received back anything.

They demand you to complete such a significant amount of work but do not pay you remotely enough to the quantity of work they want. They were very scattered and the principal has no idea what he is doing in the education sector. They constantly come up with excuses for not answering you. They do not pay on time, ever. I'm talking about significant payment delays - a few months. I highly do not recommend working here. Such a terrible, and unprofessional environment.

I would not recommend to work there as a salary you will earn as a minimum wage + they will always delay a payment on monthly based which is not  convenient for yourself whenever you need money.

   Staff is horrible, mostly Chinese work there and they hate others, you can feel it though. In overall, place is not bad to work for minimum wage as the owners of this business are greedy. Moreover, there is no career growth.

Owner didn’t pay employees on time, but months later. Teachers who stood up for their rights were fired, even if they had dedicated years to the school. It’s a part time low paying job. The school principal was great but she moved on and they hired someone who made everyone uncomfortable and stressed.

The school never ever pays on time.

You work many unpaid hours.

The school only likes to hire new teachers or foreign teachers so that they don't complain.

I walked out of the school one day and never returned.

Until the owner paid salaries, all was good. But when cheques were bouncing back or pay was delayed for 2 months, everyone’s patience was down.
High turn over in staff and faculty. 
Hope situation improves for the business.

Wonderful school to be apart of, the students and staff are great and I am so proud to be apart of the organization. The staff makes you feel welcomed and you can tell there is a strong appreciation for the field of education.
