Working for the Town is a fantastic opportunity. Compensation is stellar; with solid pay, great benefits, and a few nice perks. Work/life balance is not a problem as management understands that we all have family obligations etc sometimes and getting time off to attend to them is not usually an issue.

The culture at the Town is really positive, everyone seems genuinely happy to come to work every day and takes pride in their work.

The workload can be a bit....intense at times. You need to be a self-starter who can juggle multiple priorities at once with minimal direction. But if you enjoy being busy then boy this is the place for you!

The best part of the job is that every day you are helping to ensure the Town runs smoothly, and everyone understands that we are all here to serve the citizens of Stony Plain; that's a message that comes down right from the top on a regular basis and everyone really does buy into it.

I have been with this organization for some time now, and overall, it’s been a great place to work. The benefits are excellent, including a solid pension plan that helps secure long-term financial stability. The company also offers flexible work arrangements, which is a huge plus for work-life balance.

Management, for the most part, is supportive and approachable, and there is a genuine effort to create a positive work environment. However, some members of senior leadership could improve in terms of communication and transparency. While not a dealbreaker, this is an area where the company could focus on further growth.

Overall, it’s a good organization that values its employees and provides a lot of opportunities for development. I would recommend it to others looking for stability, great benefits, and flexibility.

The pay, hours and benefits are decent, however the culture is toxic. It feels like a HS popularity contest complete with bullies. 
Top management holds staff to a standard they themselves don't adhere to, do as I say--not as I do! Ex: dress code-if you donate you can wear jeans on Fridays, unless you are management and have expensive $800 jeans from Japan, then you can wear them whenever you want.
During COVID, management was inconsistent--seemingly forgetting about certain buildings and departments. 
There is little to no movement or room for advancement, and it seems those that are in positions of power are dead set on keeping it. 

Working for a small town is very relaxed, we get things done but there's no rush. The crew is heartwarming and well humored, never a dull day with this folks.

The problem really resides on upper management. There is a lot of politics involved and when it comes to picking supervisors, they would rather choose someone that can be controlled and pushed around than someone that will actually do the best for the town and residents.

Regardless, pay is good and work is meaningful.

i totally satisfied to work with town of stony cause the work balance is fair to every body not only to kitchen staff. willing to stay longer in this company and willing to bring some of my good working friends so i can help them to learn something new like me. i have nothing more to say to this company everything is in good and fair, balance, and who knows soon or later we can more reservation so we can get more income and profit to the company.

The work load wasn't too heavy mostly cleaning golf carts and managing the driving range overall wasn't to bad. However when it came to tournaments little time was giving to us and some nights we were told to clean all the carts and hour before closing. Overall needed more time in advance given to us working in the back shop.

Like most organizations, the culture suffered during Covid.  Management is working towards improving culture and have made some great improvement.  With every organization culture comes from all levels and there are some fantastic people that work and keep the Town running.  Most departments still have a family feel and supportive nature.  In general it’s a good place to work.  Is there lots of work to do? Yes there certainly is.  

A good place to work if you like losing who you are and being made to doubt your abilities. HR and management are a joke - they're not on your side. Turnover rate is alarming - these people know how to leave a sinking ship. Trying to keep the "small town feel" without realizing that it is basically a city now and needs to be treated like one. 

The general employees are overall good to work with, management is inconsistent and do not care about the employees. The organization is a whole does not take care of their people. If you have any issues good luck with HR, the team is unprofessional, unreliable and have no integrity. Overall this organization is mismanaged. 

Where people go to die.  If you want to waste your life away with disappointment, endless meetings and no teamwork, then work for Stony Plain.  It will suck away any desire you had for your career and role and put you into and endless cycle of disappointment and no support.
