First of all, its important to understand that tbca is a stepping stone which is actually unfortunate. Just because you're older, or have QC or PC experience doesn't mean you'll be placed appropriately. You will get in and question what you'll be doing.. they wont tell you until a group leader selects you midway through orientation once you're in the dojo and they watch you work. Yup favoritism is a thing here, I was a favorite but because they didn't know I was intending on leaving I decided basically 1 week after I started(ended up staying for over 2 years), I didn't take appropriate steps up. You can be a team leader, its easy, pay attention, offer ideas, communicate you'll be fine. see how it works is, if you're likeable, responsible, reliable, punctual, you have some common sense and you're patient (because team leaders will eventually leave been proven over and over again) you'll do ok here. Its how you handle it. Behave like a child, get treated like one. Behave like an adult, get treated like that. 

Hate to sound negative. Management can be very understanding as the job is what it is. You can guess what it is. Many many people have come and gone in my 2 years there. Toyota handled the pandemic and part shortage very well tbh, tbca did as well. The pay is, ok, not great but ok. company caters once in a while, offers a decent amount of time off, they know its hard work. However with tbca essentially being a few years behind tmmc in terms of ease for the worker to do the jobs, it can be hard for some. They give out rewards for good behavior, like kaizen awards and quality catches. If you're a girl this will be easier. The team leaders actually do care. The people can make or break you. Decent benefits and rrsp and rrp paid for by the company is nice. 

People will come to a decision about you, and talk to other team members, leaders about their decisions. They may make sense, but sometimes they're wrong, and this place rewards people for being right. 

You can be right, but also wrong here.

All in all I have to say my time at tbca was as expected. Some recognized my skills, got jealous, and I got crapped on but I also got rewarded for my skills. A few, but mostly no one talked to me really but i didn't give a talkative vibe, mainly because I heard some of the drama they caused and didn't feel it necessary to fix it as I was leaving soon anyways and figured it wasn't worth it. Bout time? nope. I stayed until I was ready to leave. You didn't make me leave. I am not the type to take things personal which is why when I heard about much of the drama said about me I did nothing as it was childish high school drama, I'm done with that. This was not a waste of time for me, as I learned a lot about myself, my limits and what I really want out of life. but mostly I was not surprised by the people there. 

STOP APPLYING AND WASTING TBCAS TIME IF YOU KNOW YOU CANT HANDLE IT. LOOK ELSEWHERE. 

I have read the other reviews about TBC Woodstock and wholeheartedly agree that:

TBC Woodstock underpays for extremely physically demanding, frustrating and disorganized work experiences.  Many fellow empoyees jjoke and compare how much weight they have lost in their first 3 or 6 months on the job.

Do you live outside of Woodstock and want to apply here?
Ask yourself if you will be able to live with:
NEVER KNOWING WHAT TIME YOU WILL BE FINISHED WORK EACH AND EVERY DAY!

How can you plan your life that way?  And that's just thinking about their "40 Hour" work week, never mind the chaos of their 60 hour weeks.

Signing a contract to agree to overtime is one thing, but NEVER KNOWING when your sift is going to end, and never really knowing why just eats away at you and your coworkers.

TBC doesn't get it: 
getting paid an extra 20 hours x 1.5 x $18.45/hr (+shift premium) is not worth it.  Sure there are lots of people that apply and start working at TBC, but many quit or get fired.

$20.00/hr starting rate would be acceptable to attract and keep good workers, even if there is the risk of wanting to quit or getting hurt by working here.

Turnover is extremely high, people are always missing from your shift.

After 3 months, many people start looking for work elsewhere and use their time at TBC to try and get hired at the main Toyota plants in Cambridge or Woodstock.

TBC Floor Managers are always scrambling to make-up for absenteeism and have a really hard time answering simple questions. 
Safety is hyped, but not enforced until somebody gets hurt or seen doing something unsafe by Upper Management.  All of them admit that it is only going to get worse starting Nov. 2018 with all of the new employees and expansion.

They recently raised starting wage to $18.45, because they realize people have other good job choices in Woodstock and word is spreading that TBC Woodstock is not a good place to work.

The only good thing about working there is the sense of family on the line. The guys to your left and right are always great people. 

The management is some of the worst I've seen at any company. Especially the group leaders. The group leaders are given given an obscene amount of discretion in regards to the team members. As a result the amount of favouritism that happens is staggering. If they don't like you. It won't matter if your attendance is good, if your rapport is good, your quality is good. They will find any and all reasons to weed you out. Even going so far as making things up to get rid of you. In order to succeed, do not show initiative, do not show leadership qualities. Just do your job and shut up, and everything will be fine. 

Since there is no room for advancement at all. Those upper positions are coveted. The people in those positions will do everything they can to weed out threats. As a result the line is full of passive workers who will not speak up for themselves. If you do, you will be weeded out. They would rather have a line full of snowflakes as opposed to true working professionals. 

HR is notorious for their insanely heavy handed responses to the most minor of things. This goes back to the group leaders, who report happenings to HR. Yes you read that right, your bosses will bring YOU to HR in order to weed you out. 

Because it is a fast paced, repetitive work environment. Any one that's spent a decent amount of time there will get repetitive motion injuries. DO NOT GET HURT. Or they will weed you out. 

DO NOT GET SICK or they will weed you out. 

DO NOT think for yourself or speak for yourself. Or you will be weeded out. 

I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy

The day starts off with taking the messages of all the call ins and then checking which Team Members have the day planned off. If the Team Members called in I must update the Emergency Leave SpreadSheet and fill out a form for the Team Member to sign upon their return to work.  Next I go to the Communication Board and ensure there are Team Members alotted in each position that are signed off on each station. As a Manager (Group Leader), I have to be able to listen to the needs of not only the Team Leaders, but I must also keep in touch with the Team Members as well.
After the leading the meeting at the start of the shift I make my way to the areas on the line that had trouble on the previous shift, be it from defect outflow or slow process times, and find out ways to improve upon yesterdays performance.
Once production has commenced, I need to stay on top of current issues straight from the supplier or changes done to the line that are causing damages to the product. If Team Members catch defects we have a program in place where a Quality Catch form is filled out by myself and the top 3 catches receive awards.
At the end of the shift I am responsible for filling out the Production Reports and taking care of the Kronos ensuring all Team Members have punched in and out or if the Team Member called in that Kronos reflects that.
After the reports are done, I take a walk down the line to ensure all Station Complete signs are present, the 5S is left in good condition for the next shift and all the fans and lights are turned off.

Signing a contract with this company is probably worse than singing your soul away Management is the worst,in pc they treat you like garbage  don’t say hi or bye. you stay late  to help other people and don’t even get a thanks all they do is threaten to fire everyone in our group meetings every morning for silly stuff none of us have done or could do they treat us like we are a bunch of stupid lazy idiots  and they hate us all  we can’t do anything right meanwhile it’s all of us stupid team members who make this company Most of the management are lazy. Wont even cover people so the can go to the rest room if your a female on the seat line chances are you won’t be able
To use the rest room even if it’s that time of the month or if they do get to go  by  the time you actually get to go it will be to late I’ve never been or seen of a worst place to work oh and you never know when your going to be done the bell will ring at the end of the day and then they will then say we are working and hour late  take a 5 minute break and in pc the have jobs that are so unrealistic it’s crazy a the have one person doing a 2 man job in a few departments but then a one man easy job will have 2 or 3 people... again because management doesn’t know what they are doing

It's okay at best if single. You won't have much free time when you are thrown onto the floor.

I have been here 3 months or so, favouritism mentioned by others is a legit concern here. If you don't get along with your AM they'll treat you like garbage, even if try to play nice. I have gotten into it with one for the stupidest reasons because they always have something to say. Always belittling me over everything I do.

Do not pull your yellow cord when he's around, he will scold and critisize you instead of helping you. Calling for a Team Leader is sometimes the best option, if they're not busy. The AM has NEVER worked the line apart from Steaming, to put that into perspective of him telling you how to do your job at times.

The job is good if you want/need money, but I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

The co-workers and Team Leaders are always friendly and there to help you, other higher ups will put you down. The friends I made here and the fact we have same thought process on issues makes things better.

I currently work 10 hours a day, regardless of days/afternoons(Nights).

The highlight of going to work, is leaving after 10 hours.

Even after reading the reviews I gave it a shot! Horrible 6 months. Worst place I have ever worked. My TL was very nice but the upper management is horrible. If they don’t like you, it will be hard to survive. Too much favouritism, make you do job of 2 people saying they are low on staff! They should figure it by now then that it’s them and not the work that they are always low on staff! Anything taken to hr never gets resolved, instead your manager will give a hard time if you complain about something bc the hr cannotkeep anythinh to themselves, terrible thing to  do to as there will be no privacy. Not only  me but other team members think the same. The management doesn’t want to do anything and blame you for everything that goes weing, even when a toilet clogs!!!!!!!!! They have no idea how many parts need to be build in the beginning of the shift, so no wonder the shifts are 10 hrs long, either the A/B shift didn’t finish their assignment or we were not working fast or not checking parts. If you put 1 person to do 3 people’s job then obviously there will be defects in quality!

Having worked at TB Woodstock for just shy of 1 year, I can see that it's already bad employment reputation is getting worse.

I noticed that negative reviews for TB Woodstock have magically vanished from other websites after having been posted for only a few weeks.

The new production lines gave us some hope for improvements, but it is clear that the wrong people were put in charge and the fact that they have not been fired is causing really bad morale.

Things are just getting worse.

The starting and average pay rates are not good enough to attract good hires or keep good people.  Good people are railroaded by the idiots put in charge of the changes.  Morale is really low.

New people are quitting or getting fired faster than TB can hire new ones.
You never know when your shift is going to end and it is impossible to plan a normal life because of that.  People live for overtime pay to boost their take-home pay, but it is not worth the time the job sucks out of your life.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Tis not a bad work environment. Benefits are pretty good and you get partial benefits from date of hire. When I started 6 years ago I was making less then 18 dollars and hour and now make 33.45 an hour plus shift premium. For afternoons and overtime. The only thing I'm not to keen on is the afternoon shift which starts at 5:30 p.m and goes to 2 a.m. when we do overtime we work until 4 in the morning. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The hours aren't always the best. For alot of the year I'm away from home 12 to 13 hours a day with travel time

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very diverse group of different nationalities of employees. I think that it's really no different then any other factory I've worked in

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I work in the shipping department so I'm usually on a forklift unloading and loading trucks and picking orders for the customer

A typical day of work is me making carpets and rotating between 3-4 jobs. The days are usual ten hours and we usually build 550 carpets in a day. There is a lot of running around. I have learned how to get better at time management and how to watch for quality. My co-workers are pretty good for the most part. We are a smaller line in the factory so there isn't much drama. The management is a little off. They are great people but I feel that the workers are treated more like robots then humans. The hardest part of the job is dealing with the repetition for ten hours a day. The most enjoyable is the people I work with because we talk all day to distract our selves from the repetition. Its not a bad job but as I move closer to going to school I feel I need a change of scenery where I might be able to get a clear head and maybe be appreciated more for my hard work. I have really learned how to be a team player from this job.
