I’ve been working here about a month, and I’ve quite enjoyed it, personally, everyone I have worked with has been pretty friendly, my team leader and group leader have been pretty good, and I see loads of people getting better job offers early on, some people even getting better jobs before their first contract is up, the turnover rate is high but that’s fairly expected for manual labour jobs or people who didn’t expect how hard shift work can be, which gets me to that point, shift work can be a pain in the  rear, and if you have a social life it can have a toll on it, but you get used to it, and I’ve yet to have it really get in the way of anything, I’ve been offered loads of overtime and even without it, the starting pay is actually quite good, once your starting contract is done it gets better and you get most of the rest of the, quite decent benefits. Outside of the actual work, the company has some pretty cool things they do every now and then, and sometimes they will just be giving away free things at the door at the end of the shift, which I know they are just cheap things and an easy way to better employee satisfaction but I do like them, all in all, a lot better than given credit for, or has improved since the time most of these reviews have been written, and based on the words of my trainer, the latter is probably the case. If you get a job here, I would personally 100% recommend a job in stamping, that’s the only place I’ve been so far, but it seems a lot less boring than the welding department where you are alone in a cell transferring parts in and out of a robot, working 10 hour shifts, I’m not sure about production control as I don’t see those guys or what they do, but of the 3 I like where I’ve been placed. Do keep in mind, this entire review is from the POV of someone in stamping, other departments could have it worse, I don’t know. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Guaranteed 48 hours a week, weekends off. Overtime is available. Set schedule, 2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights. so we can schedule appointments around that. Free uniforms. We are encouraged to utilize Human Resources, for any concerns or questions. Response to these is within 24 hours. Many programs for physical and mental health. Clean and organized factory. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Stressful, in my opinion, is initially the job can be overwhelming, new faces, new tasks, new job. Training program is very fast tracked, but once you get out on the floor and start to work, everything just falls into place. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Busy, modern, knowledge of basics computer skills, and read english. Culture is very diverse. English is the primary language for communication verbally, and paper work. Language barrier can be a challenge, but in time, this just gets worked out, if you have a co-worker who is a great worker, they just need a little, slower explanation of what the english speaking people are saying. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I arrive 20 minutes before my shift, my own choice, as I prepare for the weather or traffic. This also gives me a chance to get any PPE I need from the vending machines, and the I procedue to the time clock. I attend the group meeting, my Team Leader starts wtih stretches and then talks about any concerns that our Group Leader has about parts. We then read the map, of where we are assigned for that day, and go to that cell, and start production. We build the parts and if one of the robots in our cells stops working, or we run out of parts, or bins, then we press the call button and our TL comes to address the concern.  We record the time of this, as it is considered Down time and then record when the issue is resolved, and continue on. We have 10 min break, 20 min break and 10 min break. During these 10 hours.

During my in class training it seemed amazing, it seemed like an amazing place to work, but that's all lies. It's just their way of luring you in. When you start your on the floor training you are required to wear your typical PPE, and a face mask because of the Corona Virus, and on top of the face mask, a face shield(For extra COVID-19 protection). It's already super hot in the factory, and no air flow can get to your face with the shield on, The shield also pushed onto the safety glasses, which caused them to plug my nose a bit. I could hardly breath. I asked a Team Leader if I could at least take the face shield off and I explained to her why. The answer I got was a very rude "No you can't" then she walked away. Roughly 10 minutes later I fainted and hit my head. (I was lucky I fainted where I did because anywhere else I could've got REALLY injured. Once I gained consciousness I was in the First Aid room, and they were trying to write me up saying it's all my fault why I fainted. So i quit, because they don't care about my health and safety like they had said during my in class training, they only cared about covering up their mistake by putting the blame onto me. On top of all that, after I quit, I didn't receive my direct deposit pay. I emailed HR and they told me I have never given them my direct deposit, which I did on my first day when they were collecting everybody's direct deposit. So they must have lost it. So now I'm waiting for my pay check to come in the mail, and who knows when I'll be receiving it. I've been checking my mailbox twice a day in hopes that my check is in there because I have bills in need of being paid. If you want to work a job where they do not care about you whatso ever, this is the place for you! Just please make sure you take care of yourself and be as safe as you possibly can, because if you get hurt, they don't care.

I worked at TTCA for a few years (a little over 3 years), I went from off-loader to parts-mover to press-operator to team-leader. I was a press operator for a year and a half and team-leader for over a year. The job is fast paced, the team leaders are not what you would call "leaders". 
Toyotetsu say they care about their employees but they don't. Those in the front office (Admin, HR, etc.) do seem to believe this but on the work floor/warehouse it is another story. Abusive and demeaning leadership (for the most part, some team leads and group leads actually know what they are talking about) but for the most part it is a "FASTER, FASTER!" mentality that brings little reward (BBQs if there is a good month).
The company would excel with a profit sharing model. Most employees feel over worked and under valued. The attitude is "If they cause a problem, we will replace them". I once sat in a meeting were they discussed summer students as, "A great opportunity because we can pay them less and work them more".
Training is poor at best, if they put you in a role and you struggle they don't give you more training. Accidents are a normal thing because of this type of thinking (mostly cuts from offloading)
They have a program for constant improvement in which employees can be given a bonus based on ideas that can improve safety or productivity, but on multiple occasions I have seen submissions turned down and then later used with slight modifications so that the employee would not receive any compensation. 
If you are in need of money the pay is good but the work environment is brutal. Humid summer days, very fast paced, loud environment.

TTCA reacts to every problem just in time.  They are not the best job around because of their business model and the nature of automotive manufacturing.

TTCA has very strong, thoughtful core values.
The interview and orientation were flawless and scripted. I felt confident and excited.

One thing led to another and now I realize that structure doesn't matter if the people running the company and machines don't have enough time to follow procedure.

Machines waste time breaking down, then people work faster so they will not be forced to work during their free time on the weekend.  This leads to mistakes, which leads to stress, which leads to chaos.  The supervisors are not capable of handling chaos because TTCA has not provided them with the appropriate skills.

TTCA will fail because they spend so much money on overtime.  They spend so much on overtime because there is chaos.  There is chaos because people work faster and make more mistakes after a machine breaks down. There is chaos because the chaos is not being managed by supervisors with training.  The supervisors are not asking for training to help them do their job more effectively because they don't have time.

Traning is a core pillar of TTCA. It would be a shame if a global company with vast resources grinded to a halt because they didn't realize that team leaders and supervisors need the most training because they interact with the most people. 

Enjoy spending more time busting your butt all day everyday beyond belief and stretching yourself WAY too thin then get crapped on because you weren’t able to get everything on that mile long list done? Then you’ll love working here where you work 6 days a week and are expected to stay late everyday and volunteer to come in on your one day off because the front office doesn’t know how to run a company, value their employees. They have a higher turn over rate than anywhere I’ve ever seen. Seriously, the front door should just be replaced with a revolving door already. New hires every week (groups of 10 to sometimes 20 people) and maybe 5 stick around till the end of the week. Although that tends to happen when they have zero hiring standards and will hire anyone with a pulse and just throw them in departments that are not suitable and then just watch them fail miserably. Such a toxic drama filled facility. Don’t apply here if you value your sanity and wish to have any kind of social/family life. 

Basically there are several jobs that are terrible and several that are a breeze. All of them boring. The quality of positions is not properly distributed. As well as there is no seniority or performance incentive either financially, extra vacation or position wise. If you do well in a lesser position expect to continually be in that position. For the first 5 months Saturday OT was always on and often Sunday double time was available that was basically guaranteed and shoved down your throat in orientation, its been half a year no OT which is pretty much 6000 in lost wages. There is no straight shift options. They will continually have 'snack days' and 'appreciation lunch days' mostly for the legal position to decline any raises above cost of living adjustments. No accountability, so many times you will come in to missing or broken tools or marker ink all over everything and those who have done it are never held accountable.

Some days were smooth, other days I was down for hours. But it’s a numbers game. Most upper management just come by every once in a while to check your numbers. It is assumed that if you don’t hit your numbers that it’s your fault, even if we don’t have the staff/materials to support your process. My particular group leader is probably the best manager there. He made an effort to get to know me more when he could, gives constructive criticism (not just “we’re low on inventory”), and acknowledges a job well done, unlike most upper management. The pay is below average. They constantly spring mandatory overtime on you at the very last minute; they surprise you by letting you know that, by the way, the 7-3 week of over time you volunteered for will probably be 7-7 instead. They frown upon a 5-minute bathroom break. As someone with experience in a disgusting, hot, dirty steel mill, I much prefer the steel mill to this place.

Good place to work. Good money for working in Simcoe. It's safe and clean with good safety practices. 
Excellent cafeteria with energy drinks for sale, Keep ya going. Work is easy and doable,  repetitious.
They give you a company  hat and shirts to wear that you have to buy. They take it off your pay.
Paid training and free safety glasses and ear plugs and safety equipment. 
To keep them happy, and to keep your job, all you have to do is show up everyday and get close to your production numbers and do your job. They way they designed the work it's pretty much idiot proof.
I loved working there. The only negative thing are the breaks. You get one 10 minute break and a 20 minute lunch on a 8 hour shift. That's it.  Could have used that 3rd break to get over the afternoon  hump.

Be prepared to deal with bosses who don't see the big picture. It's a factory, it's hard work. Be ready to work your butt off. Middle management sucks.

But the pay is good compared to local alternatives. No complaints there.

The turn over rate is high because people get discouraged from hard work, lack of training, and supervisors who look like they don't care. If you get a job here, stick it out, and don't get discouraged.

The HR department rocks, cool people that will actually listen to you.

This place has a few people who are disgruntled, just like any other factory. Avoid these people, their attitude is a great way to get written up or stop caring about your job.
