Morning

They want you there early so there is some unpaid time spent waiting. The pay is low; more than minimum wage but barely.

Pay does not always reflect the work. Some days the work was so physically demanding, it was definitely worth more pay. Especially considering that as temp workers we have no benefits and no guaranteed hours, the wage must be higher. 

Management seems to not always have their feces together (I cannot use the 4 letter word beginning with S ending with T, because this website deems it indecent). One job I went to I drove myself. I had informed them I could drive other workers as well. Got there and one guy had walked there and another bussed it. Same thing happened a few days later. I stopped telling them I could drive people. 

For the temporary nature of the work, and the fact they were short staffed and were constantly calling to see if I could work the next day (on days I didn't work) they should have simply offered me more $. I might have worked more than I did. 

In the end it was a few days of work here and there I did while waiting for an apprentice position through a union. As soon as I got that I was outta there. Met one dude who'd been working here for a year! Dunno how he does it.

The dispatchers are generally friendly guys who will work their butts off to get you out in the morning, assuming you have a decent record with them. Unfortunately, some of the guys they have contracts with aren't so great at their job and you'll at times be asking how some of them got into the role they did. The upside is, even if you do end up butting heads with some of those guys, TLC tries to give you opportunities. 

If you're a good worker with a good work ethic, a bad boss doesn't sour them to you. Aside the pay ($12.50/hr for general labor guys, not even standard for part-time warehousing), the hit and miss site managers, and the limited amount of work, it's fine.

Dispatch of daily labourers started at 5:30 am, which lead to a flurry of activity for the next 3 hours; which included ensuring that workers had appropriate PPE, directions to job site as well as daily time sheets. Once dispatch was completed the workers pay advances and borrowed gear was entered in to the payroll system. Once that was completed I would organize accounts receivable data for billing, as well as administrative duties as required. The most challenging and enjoyable part of the job would have been the organized chaos that was the morning dispatch, trying to accommodate the needs of the various job sites as well as those of the workers within a very short time frame.

This job is for people who can't actually manifest any real skills or work in a proper office. They give you the same tired diatribe about their platform and business model. Then they try to pay your 14 dollars an hour part time, to essentially be a business account manager.  There was literally three people in the office, the most revolting secretary i had ever met, and an obvious underachiever for a manager. I tried to secure full time hours and was promptly declined, as such, i spent the next two months looking for full-time employment.  Furthermore, apparently you can automate and script entire portions of this job.

Show up, get sent to a jobsite to perform various duties, to general labour assisting the construction industry.  Coworkers are usually friendly and supportive.  Management is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.  They'll let you borrow most of the equipment you need if you don't have it, or buy it if it's single use.  You get a cheque after you finish your shift.

It kept me busy and the pay was alright and it was easy for me to was easy for me to get to by subway and by bus as well

In summer, you generally can get work every single day. Now that it's colder, I'm getting work 3/5 weekdays, and you need to sign up for Saturday work if you want to work that day. I've been told that next month is worse, and I'm worried I won't make enough money to pay my bills. Plus you have to pay $10 off each check if you get a ride to a jobsite out of town.

Got not bad jobs but only maybe 2 to 3 days a week need 5days a week.

good place to work if your desperate for money,day starts at 5:30 am with a morbid 2 hour wait,may or may not get work,management wants obedient workers,treats you like a low life,you can be sick at home or sick at work philosophy,hardest part is to wheel barrow gravel and concrete all day long,most enjoyable is picking up your check and walking out the door at the end of the day.better to avoid this place find a real job.
