Traffic Tech Inc.

This company hired me away from a firm I was with for over 10 years with assurances of back office support and capable operations. Neither was true. Not only did they have no mining project experience, but in their internal competition for numbers among management, a manager overhearing my manager speak of a project I was working on had his staff try to call in behind me and literally steal the work from their own. Enraging the client which is one of Canada's premiere engineering firms. When that manager was brought to task he raced over the Champlain bridge to get to Brossard in 20 minutes so he could yell and berate me in my office with the door open, when he was chastised for it and made to apologize he tried to close the door until I pointed out that a real man would let those who heard him yell let them hear him contrite, again he exploded. 
I procured a manufacturing firm in Asia as a client and when the international department was asked to join and provide ocean services the COO of the company literally stole the client and said if I didn't like it I could work elsewhere.

The atmosphere is relaxed at the office, it’s a jeans and Tshirts kind of place except on “ dress for success” Tuesdays. They are great about fun dress days like Halloween and Saint Patrick’s day. Also they work well with kids issues and even allow them in the office if needed. The downside is that they give you a phone and you are required to be available at all times in and out of the office if needed. So you could end up doing multiple hours of work on a Saturday if needed. The benefits are not great, and there is no pension plan.  There is a gym and exercise classes on site which is a lovely thing to offer. In my personal opinion , some of the management team could stand to be more professional.

I worked at Traffic Tech as Dispatcher and Customer Service. 
This is sales / negotiations and is a saturated industry.

Its not easy however sink or swim. 
Either you can or you can't.

I loved working at traffic Tech. 
I have only good things to say about them.

I was trained by the best, they know who they are......

total sense of accomplishment and achievement once you apply hard work and dedication to sales and negotiations when you meet your targets..... my team always did.....I learned more so much working there.

Working here gave me the opportunity to become a part of a new family.  Everyone at the Calgary location was more than willing to go the extra mile to get the job completed.  I will miss them, and supply them with any support that I can during the transition with the new Coordinator,

The Eastern Management did not supply the training and or support required.  The hardest part of the job was to get the accurate information for new clients set up and requirements out of the Eastern management and the Sales Representative responsible for the client

Gained a lot of experience in the transportation/broker division. Learned more about the equipment, how the lanes run (ex: AB-BC), how to keep on top of the drivers so they are not late for their deliveries -- I learned so much from this job. A typical day at work was very busy and stressful, management was good but HUGE turn around with staff in general, co-workers are amazing, the hardest part of the job was keeping calm and prioritizing everything however, once that was done -- it was all manageable from there.

This review is a bad one simply because they expect far too much from you for next to nothing in return. I have worked for this company for over two years now and have been promised and led on time after time regarding career advancement and salary increase, its all lies. I would never recommend to my worst enemy to work for Traffic Tech. Please do yourself a favour and find somewhere else to work, somewhere where they actually appreciate and know a good employee when they have one because Traffic Tech does not. Avoid at all costs, don’t waste years off your life at this place.

I've been here less than 5 years, and I can say It's a fair place to work. Work hard = reward.  Slack off = no rewards. Don't really know what else to say.  
I like the people, the company, the management, even all our visitors from other offices. 
They treat you fairly, and are understanding when it comes to personal or family matters.  In my time here, I've seen a couple people leave, only to come right back because they realize how awesome it is here.

A typical at day work means coming in checking emails. Involves posting lanes and making cold calls to book trucks on the lanes posted. Then getting the rate from the carrier and adding the profit and quoting the customer to get a PO to move the shipment. The hardest part you might have to deal with working in a big team is every co-worker picks up there pace. You might be left with picking other people slack. But the most enjoyable part is you are working is a workplace which is not constrained to your cubicle.

In working here for 6 months I realized that workers are far under paid for what the work given and quotas to meet. Managers like to put on a face of its a fun laid back work place. I left on good terms but I genuinely hated working here. Wonderful people but horrible high upper management team. Very much about numbers but lower management can be very understanding. The free coffee is okay and very nice clean office. No real room for moving up. It’s a great temporary job. They expect you to be a robot.

The job was 0830-1700, the office has a great environment with its coworkers and management. Free coffee and tea was a bonus! The office itself was lovely and there were even rooms for you to take naps on your break, however the work itself is extremely repetitive. Based on my previous jobs, I thought this would be no problem, but I quickly realized how wrong I was. Obviously this job would suit some more then others.
